Technical Project Manager - AI Platform

About the Role

We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to own the intersection of product, engineering velocity and software quality. The role is hands-on: you will be equally involved in product requirements, architecture, code review, API design, UX and production incidents.

This is a leadership position for an engineer who established a strong individual contributor record before moving into management and continues to exercise technical judgment daily. The core responsibility is converting ambitious product requirements into shipped, production-grade software - quickly, predictably and with sustained attention to detail.

Responsibilities

- Translate product requirements into clear, technically sound engineering plans, and drive features from definition through design, development, testing and production release.
- Break ambiguous problems into concrete engineering tasks, identify blockers early and remove them.
- Own delivery commitments, sustain execution velocity without compromising quality, and communicate risk early.
- Establish engineering rituals for planning, code review, release and incident response.
- Set and enforce coding and architectural standards, and review significant pull requests in depth.
- Ensure meaningful automated test coverage, and drive observability, reliability and performance work.
- Hold the line on detail: API contracts that do not hold up, missing edge cases and error handling, UX inconsistencies, redundant database queries, latency regressions, weak abstractions, and tests that do not verify what matters. Working code is not the definition of done.
- Ensure root causes are addressed rather than symptoms, and track and eliminate recurring production issues.
- Manage technical debt continuously rather than through periodic cleanups.
- Remain capable of reading complex code quickly,



debugging difficult production issues, challenging architectural decisions, and writing prototypes or critical components when required.
- Partner with Product Managers and designers; challenge requirements that are unclear or unnecessarily complex, and identify the simplest solution that delivers the intended customer value. Confidential - For Internal / Candidate Review Only

- Balance product ambition, engineering complexity and time-to-market, and ensure the team understands why work is being undertaken, not only what to build.
- Convert customer feedback into actionable engineering priorities. Required Skills

- 4-5 years of software engineering experience, including at least one to two years of direct engineering leadership or team management.
- A strong hands-on engineering background, with a demonstrated record as a high-quality individual contributor prior to moving into leadership.
- Strong coding ability in Python, Java, Go, C++, TypeScript or a comparable modern language.
- Excellent understanding of software architecture and engineering fundamentals.
- Solid API, database and distributed systems fundamentals.

- Experience building and shipping production software on contemporary cloud infrastructure.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability across the application, data and infrastructure layers.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and a consistently high standard of precision in technical work.

Preferred Skills

- Experience delivering AI or ML-backed products; familiarity with LLM APIs, agentic workflows or RAG systems.
- Experience with observability tooling and production incident management.
- Familiarity with containerised deployment (Docker, Kubernetes) and a major cloud platform.
- Experience in a high-growth or early-stage product environment.
- Experience hiring, onboarding and developing engineers
