Job Profile: ServiceNow Lead Developer - SAM

Location: Any location in India

Work Mode: Hybrid

Preferred experience: 6-10 years The Role:

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Lead Developer – SAM with strong hands-on expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) to design, implement, and optimize software asset lifecycle, license management, compliance, and optimization solutions.

Responsibilities:

· Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow SAM solutions.

· Configure and manage software models, entitlements, license rules, and metrics.

· Manage software asset lifecycle from procurement through retirement.

· Implement license reconciliation, compliance tracking, and optimization processes.

· Perform software data imports, reconciliation, normalization, and remediation.

· Build integrations with Discovery tools and external systems such as Flexera and SCCM.

· Develop automation for software request, approval, fulfillment, and remediation processes.





· Ensure accurate SAM data, compliance reporting, dashboards, and license tracking.

· Work closely with ITAM, CMDB, security, procurement, and business teams.

· Troubleshoot issues and support deployments, upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.

· Drive SAM best practices, governance, standardization, and process improvements.

Must - Have Qualifications:

· Solid experience in ServiceNow SAM Pro (Software Asset Management Professional).

· Minimum 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow SAM experience.

· Strong knowledge of software asset lifecycle, license management, compliance, and reconciliation.

· Experience with software entitlements, normalization, license metrics, and optimization.

· Good understanding of CMDB relationships and ITAM processes.

· Hands-on experience with data imports, reconciliation, asset normalization, and remediation.

· Strong development experience in JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, and ACLs.

· Experience with Flow Designer / Workflows.

· Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Server.

· Experience in end-to-end ServiceNow SAM implementations and migrations.

· Strong understanding of ITIL and Software Asset Management processes

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent

· Experience with HAM / ITAM integration.

· Exposure to FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and software licensing models.

· Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, and CSDM.

· Knowledge of Threat/License intelligence and software publisher models.

Certifications:

· ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Mandatory

· CIS – Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM) – Preferred
