Company Description
Kantilal Chhotalal (KC) | Mumbai
Kantilal Chhotalal is a high-jewellery house founded in 1941, known for exceptional diamonds, rare gemstones and one-of-one jewellery.
We are looking for a Social Media Content Designer to join our in-house team and help shape how KC is presented visually across Instagram and other marketing touchpoints.
This is not simply a production-design role. The designer will work closely with the brand and creative team to develop a distinctive visual language for KC, one that reflects the rarity, craftsmanship and design intelligence of the jewellery itself.
Role Description
Your primary responsibility will be creating visual content for KC's Instagram and digital marketing, along with supporting brand and marketing assets as required.
You will work across jewellery photography, campaign imagery, archival material, typography, graphic design, generative AI and video to create polished, high-quality content that feels consistent with the world of a global high-jewellery house.
A strong understanding of fine and high jewellery is important. You should be able to recognise what makes jewellery photography, colour, scale, stone appearance and presentation feel sophisticated and equally, what can make it look artificial, commercial or mass-market.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Instagram posts, carousels, Stories, Reels covers and other social-media content.
- Develop campaign layouts and visual systems for launches, exhibitions and editorial stories.
- Create digital and print marketing assets as required, including invitations, presentations,
event collateral and advertising creatives.
- Work with jewellery photography and campaign imagery while maintaining accurate representation of diamonds, coloured stones, metal and craftsmanship.
- Use generative AI tools as part of the creative process for image development, extensions, environments, campaign concepts and visual experimentation.
- Retouch and refine AI-generated imagery so that the final output feels intentional, believable and aligned with the KC brand rather than visibly AI-generated.
- Edit short-form video content for Instagram, including basic cutting, pacing, transitions, text treatment and colour correction.
- Adapt creative concepts across multiple formats and aspect ratios without losing the visual integrity of the original idea.
- Work with existing KC brand codes while helping evolve the brand's visual language over time.
- Maintain organised working files, templates and asset libraries.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of relevant design experience, preferably in luxury, jewellery, fashion, beauty, editorial or another highly visual industry.
- Strong graphic-design fundamentals: typography, composition, proportion, colour and image selection.
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Comfortable using generative AI image tools as a serious part of the design workflow.
- Comfortable with basic video editing using Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or similar software.
- Good understanding of image retouching and colour correction.
- Strong visual sensitivity and attention to very small details.
- A genuine understanding of, or strong interest in, high jewellery, diamonds, gemstones and luxury design.
- Ability to distinguish between refined luxury imagery and generic commercial or social-media design.
- Comfortable working through multiple iterations and taking detailed creative feedback.
- Ability to manage several pieces of content and marketing requirements simultaneously.
The Opportunity KC is currently developing a more distinctive and globally relevant visual identity across its digital presence.
This role offers the chance to work closely with the team shaping that evolution not simply executing predetermined templates, but contributing ideas, experimenting with new visual approaches and helping define what the KC brand should look and feel like across Instagram and marketing.
For a designer with strong taste, curiosity and an interest in high jewellery, this is an opportunity to build a visual world around extraordinary objects rather than simply produce social-media content.
