About us

Acrophase is IIT Madras's Centre of Excellence for Human Performance, working at the intersection of sports science, technology and athlete development. Our work spans performance testing and research, technology development for athletes, and scholarship programmes that support India's para and able-bodied athletes on their journey to national and international podiums. It's a rare place to build a portfolio: real athletes, real labs, real results worth telling people about.

The role

We're looking for two interns who can help us tell that story well. You'll own the day-to-day creative output across our social channels and website — from shoot to edit to post to engagement.

What you'll do

- Design creatives — static posts, carousels, reels, short-form video — tailored to Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Shoot video and stills at the centre, during athlete testing sessions, events and competitions • Edit video for both long-form (YouTube) and short-form (Reels, Shorts) formats
- Make regular updates to the Acrophase website
- Manage day-to-day social media: scheduling, captions, community engagement, responding to comments and DMs
- Track what's working — reach, engagement, follower growth — and adapt the content plan accordingly
- Work with our researchers, coaches and athletes to turn technical work into content people actually want to watch





What we're looking for

- A portfolio. This matters more than anything on your CV — send us work you've made
- Working knowledge of design and editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or equivalents)
- Comfort shooting on a phone or DSLR/mirrorless, and a basic eye for framing, light and sound
- Strong written English, and the ability to write a caption that doesn't read like a press release
- Genuine interest in sport, fitness or science communication
- Willingness to be on the ground — some shoots happen early morning, at events, or on weekends
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in design, media, communication, or a self-taught equivalent. We don't care about the credential if the work is good

Nice to have

- Experience running a brand or creator account with real audience growth
- Motion graphics or animation
- Familiarity with website builder Wix
- Photography or videography in sports settings

Details

- Location: IIT Madras campus, Chennai
- Duration: 3 months, with full time role conversion based on performance
- Stipend: ₹15,000 per month
- Start date: immediate
