Role Description

We are looking for a Siemens PCS 7 and SCADA Integration Consultant for a project-based contract engagement. The position is hybrid, with mandatory visits to an industrial plant in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, for assessment, implementation, testing and commissioning.

The consultant will assess the plant’s existing Siemens PCS 7, WinCC SCADA, historian and OT network environment and design a secure, read-only integration through which approved SCADA values can be populated directly into the OpsDeck platform.

The intended data route is:

Siemens PCS 7/WinCC SCADA → Secure On-Premise Connector → OpsDeck The integration must not modify or interfere with the plant’s existing control logic, SCADA operations or reporting processes.

Responsibilities

- Conduct an on-site technical assessment of the Siemens PCS 7 and WinCC SCADA environment.
- Identify the installed PCS 7, WinCC and Process Historian versions and document the relevant AS, ES, OS Server/Client, historian and network architecture.
- Determine the safest supported interface for reading approved SCADA values, such as OPC DA, OPC UA, WinCC Tag Logging, PCS 7 Process Historian or another customer-approved interface.
- Design the secure data route between the plant’s OT environment, an on-premise connector and the OpsDeck platform.
- Prepare a structured tag register mapping PCS 7/SCADA tags to the corresponding OpsDeck data fields.
- Define sampling frequency,



source timestamps, engineering units, scaling, tag-quality handling, totalizer behaviour and validation requirements.
- Configure or support the approved PCS 7/WinCC data-access interface.
- Build or supervise a proof of concept that sends a limited number of approved SCADA tags directly to OpsDeck.
- Collaborate with OpsDeck’s software developer on the on-premise connector, data buffering, API payloads, authentication, monitoring and validation logic.
- Ensure that data is buffered locally and transmitted after connectivity is restored if the internet connection is temporarily unavailable.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, data reconciliation, commissioning and technical handover.
- Produce complete architecture, configuration, tag-mapping and troubleshooting documentation.

Qualifications

- Minimum five years of hands-on Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 experience.
- Experience engineering, commissioning, maintaining or integrating PCS 7 and WinCC systems at live industrial plants.
- Solid understanding of PCS 7 AS, ES, OS Server/Client and historian architecture.
- Practical experience with OPC DA, OPC UA, WinCC Tag Logging, PCS 7 Process Historian or other supported industrial data interfaces.
- Experience transferring SCADA or DCS data into external databases, APIs, historians,



cloud platforms or management applications.
- Knowledge of industrial Ethernet, OT network segmentation, firewalls and secure OT-to-IT data transfer.
- Ability to preserve source timestamps, tag quality, engineering units and scaling throughout the data route.
- Understanding of local buffering, store-and-forward transmission, audit logs and connector-health monitoring.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder-communication skills.
- Willingness to visit the project site in Ramgarh, Jharkhand.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in captive power plants, thermal power plants, steel, cement or other continuous-process industries.
- Experience integrating totalizers, energy meters and shift- or daily-operational data.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, REST APIs, MQTT or industrial edge gateways.
- Understanding of industrial cybersecurity and secure remote-support practices.

System Boundary

This project concerns secure, read-only acquisition of approved SCADA data for direct population into OpsDeck.

It does not involve modifying plant control logic, interlocks, alarms, setpoints, operator screens or production behaviour. The OpsDeck cloud application will not connect directly to the plant control network. Data will pass through a secure on-premise connector or another architecture approved by the customer.

All access and implementation activities will remain subject to the customer’s authorization, cybersecurity policies, safety procedures and change-management requirements.

Engagement

This is a project-based contract role. Successful completion may lead to continuing opportunities across future OpsDeck industrial integration projects.
