Role & responsibilities

- Monitor and control silicon ingot/brick shaping processes including diamond wire cutting, squaring, and grinding operations to ensure process stability and product quality.
- Optimize process parameters to improve yield, reduce kerf loss, minimize defects, and enhance productivity.
- Analyse process data and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D; teams to implement process improvements and new technologies.
- Support process validation, qualification, and trials for new consumables, tools, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain process documentation including Control Plans (CP), SOPs, PFMEA, and Work Instructions.
- Monitor and optimize performance of diamond wires, grinding wheels, and other process consumables.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality management system requirements.

- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide technical support and training to operators and technicians.

- Maintain accurate process records and report process performance metrics.
- If Required need to come in shifts to monitor shift process performance.
- Need to attend the trouble shooting activities in shifts.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience in process engineering/manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in leading a team responsible for maintaining the stability of machining processes such as CNC or grinding.
- Solid understanding of surface roughness and statistical techniques used in production.
- Hands-on understanding of metal cutting and grinding processes.
- Experience in process monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing setup.
- Candidates from Solar, Semiconductor, Automobile Parts Machining, or other high-tech industries will be preferred.
- Experience with diamond wire cutting, squaring, grinding, or related shaping processes will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Minitab.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, QC Tools, Kaizen, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and TQM will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, troubleshooting, and team-handling skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts and support shift-level troubleshooting and process performance monitoring.
