Job Role
Service Manager – Automobile Dealership (Two-Wheeler Showroom)
- Manage complete Service Department and workshop operations.
- Ensure effective workshop workflow and timely vehicle delivery.
- Monitor vehicle inspection, diagnosis, repair, and final quality checks.
- Ensure servicing and repairs are performed according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Handle customer complaints, escalations, and service-related issues.
- Monitor Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and improve customer experience.
- Achieve monthly service revenue, labour revenue, and parts sales targets.
- Monitor service bookings, walk-ins, repeat-service customers, and customer retention.
- Manage Service Advisors, Technicians, Warranty Staff, and other workshop employees.
- Allocate work based on technician skills, workload, and workshop requirements.
- Monitor employee productivity, attendance, discipline, and performance.
- Ensure warranty procedures and manufacturer guidelines are followed.
- Monitor workshop safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure availability of service parts.
- Control workshop consumables, operating expenses, wastage, and rework.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly service performance reports.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations
- Manage day-to-day workshop and service centre operations.
- Monitor pending, repeat, and delayed vehicles and take corrective action.
- Improve bay utilization and workshop productivity.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of workshop tools and equipment.
- Ensure timely inspection, diagnosis, repair,
and delivery of vehicles.
Customer Satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints and escalations promptly.
- Explain repair requirements, estimates, and delivery timelines clearly to customers.
- Conduct timely post-service follow-ups.
- Build strong relationships with regular, repeat, and fleet customers.
- Take corrective actions to minimize complaints and negative feedback.
Business &
- Revenue
- Achieve monthly service, labour revenue, and parts sales targets.
- Increase customer retention and workshop penetration.
- Identify opportunities for additional services, accessories, and maintenance work.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly service performance.
- Develop action plans to improve revenue and profitability.
Team Management
- Manage Service Advisors, Technicians, Warranty Staff, and workshop employees.
- Allocate work according to technician skills and workload.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and discipline.
- Conduct team meetings and performance reviews.
- Identify training requirements and improve employee skills.
- Motivate the team to achieve departmental targets.
Quality &
- Compliance
- Ensure repairs meet manufacturer and dealership quality standards.
- Reduce repeat repairs, rework, and customer complaints.
- Ensure proper warranty claim procedures are followed.
- Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and statutory requirements.
Inventory &
- Cost Control
- Monitor service parts availability and coordinate with the Parts Department.
- Control workshop consumables and operating expenses.
- Reduce wastage, rework, and unnecessary material consumption.
- Ensure proper handling and protection of customer vehicles.
- Monitor the maintenance and utilization of tools and equipment.
- Support overall workshop profitability.
Reporting &
- MIS
- Prepare daily workshop performance reports.
- Maintain vehicle pending and delivery reports.
- Prepare service revenue and labour revenue reports.
- Track parts sales and technician productivity.
- Maintain customer complaint and warranty claim reports.
- Prepare monthly service target vs. achievement reports.
- Track customer retention and repeat-service performance.
- Prepare workshop profitability reports.
