About Education Today

Education Today is a leading education media platform covering education news, school leadership, rankings, events, interviews, industry insights, and developments across the Indian education sector.

We are looking for an SEO Executive who can improve the organic visibility of Education Today’s digital platforms and help grow website traffic through strong on-page, technical, and content SEO practices.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct keyword research for education news, schools, rankings, events, admissions, leadership interviews, and other relevant topics.

Optimise website pages, articles, news stories, and landing pages for search engines.

Write and optimise SEO titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, image alt text, and internal links.

Work closely with the editorial/content team to identify high-potential topics and keywords.

Improve the SEO performance of existing articles by updating content, keywords, internal links, and metadata.

Monitor website performance using Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

Track keyword rankings, organic traffic, impressions, clicks, CTR, and conversions.

Identify indexing, crawling, broken link, duplicate content, sitemap, and other technical SEO issues.

Assist with technical SEO improvements in coordination with the website/development team.

Develop internal linking strategies across news articles, rankings, events, magazines, and other Education Today sections.

Conduct competitor SEO analysis and identify content opportunities.

Support backlink-building and off-page SEO activities.

Optimise website content for Google Discover and news-related search opportunities where applicable.

Monitor SEO trends and Google algorithm updates.

Prepare weekly and monthly SEO performance reports with clear recommendations.





Skills Required

Good understanding of On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO and Technical SEO.

Strong knowledge of keyword research and search intent.

Familiarity with Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Knowledge of SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, Screaming Frog or similar platforms is preferred.

Understanding of WordPress or other CMS platforms.

Basic understanding of HTML and website structure will be an advantage.

Solid written English and attention to detail.

Ability to analyse data and translate it into actionable SEO recommendations.

Understanding of news/media SEO will be an added advantage.

Experience

1–3 years of relevant SEO experience preferred.

Candidates with experience working with news websites, digital publications, education platforms, media companies or high-content websites will be preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The SEO Executive will primarily be evaluated on:

Growth in organic website traffic

Improvement in keyword rankings

Growth in Google Search impressions and clicks

Improvement in organic CTR

Increase in indexed and ranking content

Growth of non-branded organic traffic

Improvement in performance of priority sections such as News, Rankings, Events and Magazine

Resolution of technical SEO issues

Quality and consistency of SEO optimisation across published content

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is proactive, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-moving content environment. The candidate should be able to identify SEO opportunities independently and work closely with editorial, marketing and development teams to grow Education Today’s organic digital presence.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
