We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Consultant Radiologist HOD to lead and manage the Radiology Department. The candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services, supervising radiology operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and leading the clinical and administrative functions of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Radiology Department and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Perform and interpret X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Doppler and other diagnostic imaging studies.
- Provide accurate, timely and clinically relevant radiology reports.
- Review complex and critical cases and provide expert opinions to referring clinicians.
- Ensure appropriate imaging protocols and maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy.
- Supervise and guide consultants, radiologists, technicians and other departmental staff.
- Coordinate with clinicians and other departments regarding diagnosis and patient management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, radiation safety protocols and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor departmental quality indicators, turnaround time and reporting standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
- Ensure proper utilization,
maintenance and functioning of radiology equipment.
- Develop and implement departmental SOPs, protocols and quality-control measures.
- Manage staffing, duty rosters, workload distribution and departmental performance.
- Support training and career development of junior doctors and technical staff.
- Handle patient and clinician concerns related to radiology services.
- Coordinate with hospital management regarding departmental planning, equipment requirements and service development.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray and Doppler.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a team and coordinate effectively with clinicians and hospital administration.
- Strong knowledge of radiology protocols, quality standards and patient safety.
- Ability to handle emergency and critical-care imaging cases.
Preferred
- Fellowship or additional training in a radiology subspecialty.
- Experience in Interventional Radiology will be an added advantage.
- Experience with PACS/RIS and digital radiology systems.
- Previous experience in NABH-accredited hospitals.
