Responsible for the design and development of new parts, subsystems, and products, including R&D;, design improvements, problem-solving, and testing activities. The role involves coordination for concept development, feasibility studies, design validation, and prototype manufacturing to ensure successful product realization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule product design and development activities across multiple projects and variants
- Design and develop components, subsystems, and compressor packages as per project plans and EPDP
- Coordinate design validation activities with cross-functional teams
- Provide technical inputs to support procurement and development processes
- Execute redesign and engineering changes, including special projects as per business requirements
Preferred Candidate Profile
Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 4 – 8 years (versatile based on capability)
Technical Skills
- Experience in New Product Development (NPD) and product lifecycle management
- Exposure to EPDP or similar stage-gate processes
- Hands-on experience in:
- Compressor design (preferred) OR rotating equipment (pumps, blowers, turbines)
- Subsystem and component design
Engineering Knowledge
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Thermodynamics (compression cycles)
- Fluid mechanics
- Mechanical system design
Design Expertise
- Experience in:
- Shaft design
- Bearing selection
- Stress & fatigue analysis
- Tolerance stack-up
- Knowledge of standards such as ASME / ISO / API is an added advantage
Tools & Software
- CAD: SolidWorks / Creo / NX
- Knowledge of GD&T; and DFMA is an added advantage
Industry Preference
- Compressor / Rotating Equipment / Heavy Engineering / HVAC
