Role Overview The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for assessing customer network and cloud connectivity requirements, designing on-premises, cloud and hybrid network solutions, implementing and configuring network infrastructure across these environments, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring successful project handover.

The role requires someone who can independently own on-premises and cloud networking implementation projects, work directly with customers and technology partners, and ensure that every solution is delivered securely, accurately, and within agreed timelines.

Experience Required Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in enterprise network design, implementation, migration, troubleshooting, and support, including hands-on experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Network Assessment and Solution Design
- Understand the customer’s business requirements, existing on-premises and cloud network environment, technical constraints, and security requirements.
- Conduct on-premises and cloud network assessments, site surveys, configuration reviews, and gap analyses.
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective on-premises, cloud, and hybrid network solutions.
- Prepare High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), on-premises and cloud network architecture diagrams, Bills of Material (BoM), and implementation plans.
- Define network sizing, redundancy, availability, capacity, hybrid connectivity, security, and integration requirements.
- Support the Solution Design and Sales teams in technical discussions, solution validation, effort estimation, and customer presentations.
- Evaluate compatibility between the proposed on-premises and cloud networking components and the customer’s existing infrastructure, security architecture, applications, identity services, and operational model.
- Network Implementation and Migration
- Review the approved scope, solution design, customer environment, and implementation requirements before beginning any project.
- Prepare a detailed implementation plan covering prerequisites, responsibilities, dependencies, timelines, risks, rollback procedures, and validation steps.
- Configure, install, upgrade, and migrate enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN, internet connectivity, routing, switching, network security, cloud networking, and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, VPN gateways, cloud virtual networks/VPCs, subnets, route tables, network security groups/security groups, cloud gateways, and load balancers.
- Coordinate with customers, OEMs, service providers, internal engineers, and other technology teams during implementation.
- Conduct pre-implementation checks and ensure that all required prerequisites and approvals are in place.
- Perform end-to-end testing and validation across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid connectivity,



and resolve any identified gaps.
- Manage multiple network implementation assignments through a consolidated and manager-approved delivery plan.
- Ensure that no production change is carried out without the required customer approval, internal approval, backup, and rollback plan.
- Incident Resolution and Technical Support
- Provide L2/L3 support for complex on-premises, cloud, and hybrid network incidents, service requests, performance issues, and escalations.
- Diagnose issues relating to on-premises and cloud connectivity, routing, switching, latency, packet loss, wireless performance, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, cloud route tables, security groups/NSGs, load balancers, and network security.
- Monitor assigned incidents and ensure resolution within the agreed service-level commitments.
- Coordinate with OEM support teams, internet service providers, and other vendors where required.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or recurring incidents.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to reduce repeat failures.
- Support planned maintenance, upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and emergency restoration across on-premises and cloud networking environments.
- Project Ownership and Governance
- Take end-to-end technical ownership of assigned on-premises, cloud, and hybrid network projects and activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in project trackers, ticketing tools, and implementation records.
- Provide daily or milestone-based progress updates, including completed activities, pending actions, risks, dependencies, and support required.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings, technical reviews, customer status meetings, and closure discussions.
- Escalate risks, delays, scope changes, and technical dependencies before they affect project timelines.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Head – Technology Delivery to ensure timely completion.
- Obtain technical validation and customer sign-off upon successful implementation.
- Support the formal transition of completed projects to the Operations and Support teams.
- Documentation and Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain accurate on-premises and cloud network diagrams, configuration documents, IP address plans, port-mapping documents, cloud network topology and routing records, security group/NSG rules, device inventories, and asset details.
- Maintain configuration backups and version-controlled implementation records for physical, virtual, and cloud networking components.
- Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), rollback plans, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.
- Prepare as-built documentation and customer handover documents after implementation.
- Document incident resolutions, root causes, configuration changes, and lessons learned.
- Conduct technical knowledge-transfer sessions for customers and internal support teams.
- Ensure that final documentation and handover records are completed within the defined project closure timeline.

Technical Knowledge And Skills The candidate must have strong working knowledge of enterprise, cloud, and hybrid networking. Hands-on capability in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud networking is required.

- Enterprise wireless networking and WLAN security
- DNS, DHCP, NAT, NTP, SNMP, Syslog, and IP address management
- Firewalls, access-control policies, network segmentation, and security zones
- QoS, bandwidth management, network performance, and traffic analysis
- Network monitoring, alerting, log analysis, and diagnostic tools
- Packet capture and protocol analysis using tools such as Wireshark
- Network hardening, secure configuration standards, and vulnerability remediation
- Network integration with servers, Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure/AWS cloud platforms, security solutions, and business applications
- Backup, restoration, upgrade, migration, and rollback procedures

Cloud Networking
- Microsoft Azure Virtual Network and/or AWS Virtual Private Cloud architecture
- Subnets, route tables, VNet/VPC peering, and hub-and-spoke or transit networking models
- Cloud VPN gateways and hybrid connectivity using Azure ExpressRoute and/or AWS Direct Connect
- Network Security Groups, security groups, network ACLs, and cloud firewall controls
- Public and private IP addressing, NAT, private endpoints, and cloud DNS
- Cloud load balancers, application gateways, and traffic-management fundamentals
- Connectivity between cloud workloads, on-premises infrastructure, users, branch offices, and internet services
- Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud and hybrid network performance, routes, connectivity, and security controls

Technology Exposure Required Hands-on experience with one or more of the following enterprise networking platforms is expected, in addition to the required Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud networking experience:

- Cisco
- Fortinet
- Palo Alto Networks
- Aruba
- Juniper
- Sophos
- Check Point
- Other comparable enterprise networking, cloud networking, and network security platforms

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS networking is required, including virtual networks/VPCs, subnets, routing, network security controls, VPN gateways, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.

Education and Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- CCNP Enterprise or an equivalent advanced networking certification is strongly preferred.
- Relevant certifications from Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Aruba, Juniper, or Check Point will be an advantage. Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty, or an equivalent cloud networking certification will be preferred.

Key Performance Expectations

- Completion of assigned implementations within approved scope and timelines.
- Accuracy and quality of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid network design, configuration, and deployment.
- Compliance with implementation, change-management, backup, and rollback procedures.
- Resolution of assigned incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Timely identification and escalation of risks and dependencies.
- Completeness and accuracy of project trackers and technical documentation.
- Completion of as-built documents, SOPs, and handover records within two working days of implementation closure.
- Successful customer validation, knowledge transfer, and project sign-off.
- Customer satisfaction rating of 4 or above on a 5-point scale.
