This role in summary
As a key member of the Controlling team the incumbent will lead Account Payable process, controlling and Reporting, SOX Controls & IFC, and drive Continuous Process Improvement through automation and AI embedment.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Internal: Collaborates with India Business Stakeholders, including Legal & Secretarial, Business Teams, IA, and Tax & Treasury.
- External: Manages relationships with Statutory Auditors (SRB).
Responsibilities:
- Leading a highly engaged team of 20 resources responsible for Stakeholders Management, Business Partnering, KPIs delivery wrt book closing, ensuring hygiene of financial information and reports.
- Overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payment execution.
- Ensuring Statutory Audit closure process of all entities entrusted without any major audit point by effectively collaborating with auditors and business team.
- Ensuring correct accounting, policy compliance, enhancing SOX controls & IFC for the different entities for Whirlpool of India and Elica India
- Regular support to other function eg direct tax, indirect tax for timely closure of tax related matters
- Managing vendor relationships and performance, including regular reconciliations and effective resolution of disputes.
- Monitoring and delivering departmental KPIs, focusing on productivity, quality scores, and SLA adherence for payment cycles.
- Supervise and Lead monthly/ periodic process review with relevant stakeholders
- Standardizing process narratives and SOPs to ensure operational transparency and audit readiness.
- Driving digital transformation initiatives by implementing and optimizing OCR and RPA solutions to automate manual booking tasks.
- Driving the functional design and configuration of SAP modules (FICO, MM, SD) to align with complex financial business requirements.
- Translating finance process needs into robust system architecture, ensuring end-to-end integration across financial and operational modules.
- Acting as the functional subject matter expert to facilitate process optimization, system performance, and user adoption across the finance organization.
- Capacity planning for team members to ensure optimum resources utilization.
- Developing a talent pool to manage contingencies and succession planning.
Minimum requirements
CA with 12-13 years of experience
Hands-on SAP expertise (FICO, MM and SD)
Expert knowledge of Ind AS, US GAAP, SOX Controls, IFC
