Role Objective The Head of HR Operations will be responsible for designing and managing the entire employee lifecycle. You will lead the transition from manual HR processes to automated, scalable systems, ensuring that XandY’s operational excellence matches its academic reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Faculty Branding
Develop and execute a recruitment strategy to attract high-caliber JEE/NEET faculty and corporate staff.
Oversee the end-to-end hiring process, from sourcing to high-stakes negotiations and onboarding.
Build an "Employer Brand" within the Kerala EdTech ecosystem to attract top-tier talent.
- HR Systems & Digital Transformation
Implement and manage an integrated HRIS (Human Resource Information System) to track employee data, attendance, and payroll.
Develop data-driven dashboards to monitor key metrics like retention, churn rates, and hiring velocity.
Optimize internal communication channels (e.g., Slack, WhatsApp, or specialized ERPs) to ensure team alignment across online and offline departments.
- Performance Management & Appraisal
Design and implement a robust performance appraisal system (KRA/KPI-based) tailored for both academic faculty and operations teams.
Facilitate quarterly review cycles and link performance outcomes to compensation and equity/incentive structures.
- Operational Compliance & Policy Design
Draft and maintain the Employee Handbook, MoUs, and employment contracts,
ensuring legal compliance with labor laws.
Standardize internal policies regarding leave, travel, remote work, and professional development.
Manage debt settlement agreements or equity-related documentation for senior stakeholders as needed.
- Organizational Culture & Retention
Lead initiatives to maintain a "Day 1" startup culture even as the team grows.
Design retention strategies specifically for high-performing faculty to prevent poaching in a competitive market.
Organize webinars and internal training sessions on time management and leadership for middle management.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: At least 3 years in a leadership role within a high-growth startup or the EdTech/Education sector.
Skills
Strong understanding of Kerala’s talent market.
Proficiency in HR automation tools and data analysis (Excel/Google Sheets/Python for HR analytics).
Experience in drafting legal employment documents and managing organizational restructuring.
Education: MBA in HR or a related field from a premier institute.
Attributes: Exceptional communication skills in English and Malayalam; ability to balance "Architecture of Influence" with practical operational execution.
