Omega Solutions builds NowData: a monitoring and control platform for commercial refrigeration. Supermarkets, retailers and cold storage operators run hundreds of fridge and freezer cabinets across dozens of sites, each on a proprietary controller you can only read by standing in front of it. NowData brings the whole estate into one web dashboard, so a manager can watch live temperatures and alarms across every site from their desk, and change a setpoint or trigger a defrost without sending anyone out.

We build both halves: the IoT hardware that plugs into the controllers, and the platform it feeds. Because our UI acts on live equipment, it sits in the customer’s operational safety chain. Our customers are UK retailers and cold storage operators.

We are hiring one frontend engineer to work with our Lead Engineer across our web and mobile applications.

What you will do

- Build the live monitoring UI. Telemetry arrives in the browser over MQTT and has to render without melting the page.
- Build the charts. Temperature history over days or weeks, on datasets large enough that drawing them quickly is hard.
- Build the operational side. Alarm views, screens that tell an engineer what needs attention and let them act on it, and setpoint edits that are bounds-checked in the UI and audited server-side. Alarm acknowledgement and an operator event log do not exist yet, so designing them would be yours.
- Work on the mobile app. Our field engineers use this React Native app on site to set up hardware over Bluetooth, and there is plenty to do before customers can install it themselves.
- Turn rough prototypes into finished screens. Our Product Manager sets the user experience and gives you sketches and a clear idea of what a screen needs to do. Choosing the components, libraries and UI patterns to deliver it is yours,



and we want your views on how it should look and work.
- Own bugs end to end, and plan how features get built with our Lead Engineer before owning the implementation.

What we need

- 4+ years building frontends, at least three of them on a product with real users.
- Comfortable being given a goal and some context rather than a checklist of steps. We will always give you direction and context.
- Strong TypeScript and production React, including hooks, composition, and the judgement to tell state from derived state.
- React Native, ideally with Expo. You have shipped a real app and kept it running.
- Charting and real-time experience. You know what happens to a React tree when updates arrive faster than it can render.
- Nice to have: experience building dashboards on live data from IoT or connected devices, and a sense of how messy real hardware feeds can be.
- A good working knowledge of the React ecosystem. Choosing the right library for a job and integrating it cleanly is a large part of this role.
- Fluent written and spoken English, comfortable working asynchronously with a UK team.

Practicalities

Fully remote from anywhere in India, as a full time employee. You would be the fourth member of our India team, alongside our platform lead, firmware engineer and security engineer. They are based in Trivandrum, so Kerala is a bonus rather than a requirement. We will agree working hours with you; the team shares a daily standup at 09:30 UK time.
