About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially focused Senior Financial Analyst to support an Australia-based client. The role involves evaluating financial and operational performance, analysing large datasets, identifying key business trends and delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

The selected candidate will work closely with finance, operations and senior stakeholders to prepare budgets, forecasts, management reports and performance dashboards. The role requires strong expertise in financial analysis, advanced Excel and Power BI, along with the ability to convert complex financial information into clear and meaningful business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Business and Financial Analysis

- Conduct detailed financial, operational and business performance analysis.
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and key business drivers.




- Perform profitability, revenue, cost and margin analysis across business units, products or service lines.
- Evaluate financial performance against budgets, forecasts and historical results.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide clear explanations for major performance fluctuations.
- Analyse expenditure patterns, operational efficiency and cost-optimisation opportunities.
- Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
- Assist in identifying potential risks and opportunities affecting business performance.

Financial Planning and Forecasting

- Support the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts and long-term financial plans.
- Assist in developing financial models for revenue, costs, profitability and cash-flow projections.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to collect financial and operational data.
- Review budget assumptions and assess their impact on overall financial performance.
- Support scenario analysis and business case preparation for strategic initiatives.

Reporting and Dashboard Development

- Prepare periodic management reports for senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and analytical reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI .
- Ensure that reports are accurate, consistent and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Present complex financial information in a clear and business-friendly format.
- Automate recurring reports and improve existing reporting processes wherever possible.
- Maintain proper documentation of reporting methodologies, assumptions and data sources.





Strategic and Decision-Making Support

- Translate financial data into meaningful and actionable business insights.
- Provide recommendations to improve revenue, profitability, margins and operational efficiency.
- Support management in strategic planning and informed decision-making.
- Work closely with finance, operations and business teams to understand performance drivers.
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, investments and commercial proposals.
- Prepare presentations and analytical summaries for management and client discussions.

Stakeholder and Client Management

- Collaborate with internal teams and Australia-based client stakeholders.
- Respond to financial analysis and reporting requirements within agreed timelines.
- Communicate findings, risks and recommendations professionally and effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while handling sensitive financial information.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by management or the client.

Educational and Professional Requirements

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) .
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A;, management reporting, commercial finance or business analytics.
- Prior experience in a shared-services, outsourcing or client-facing environment will be preferred.
