About NTR:
NTR (Network Traffic Redirector) is Mobileum's flagship in-path roaming traffic steering solution, deployed across 600+ operator networks worldwide and engineered for five-nines availability. Built on Core Java, RAID (our no-code/low-code UI and ETL platform), Couchbase, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and Kubernetes/OpenShift, NTR steers roaming traffic in real time at carrier scale. We're now building agentic, GenAI-powered copilot capabilities on top of NTR, enabling autonomous configuration, natural-language operator assistance, and intelligent, self-healing traffic-steering decisions.
Overview
We are hiring a Senior Engineer to help build Mobileum's first agentic, GenAI-powered copilot capabilities for NTR — our carrier-grade, in-path roaming traffic steering platform used across 600+ operator networks. You will build LLM-powered features (natural-language configuration, intelligent diagnostics, autonomous operational recommendations) while continuing to deliver core NTR functionality on our existing Java/distributed-systems stack. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role at the intersection of applied GenAI/agentic AI and carrier-grade backend engineering — technical depth and execution, not people management.
Key Responsibilities:
Agentic Copilot Engineering
- Design, build, and ship LLM-powered agentic features for NTR:
natural-language configuration assistance, intelligent diagnostics, and autonomous operational recommendations
- Implement tool/function-calling integrations so agents can safely read and act on live NTR configuration and telemetry
- Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines over NTR documentation, configuration schemas, and operational runbooks
- Apply context engineering, prompt design, and multi-step agent orchestration (e.g., LangGraph-style workflows) for reliable agent behavior
- Define guardrails, evaluation, and observability for agentic features (hallucination checks, action-approval workflows, audit trails)
Core NTR Engineering:
- Contribute to core NTR product features: roaming traffic steering logic, signaling/session handling, and high-availability service design
- Build and maintain backend services in Core Java, with UI components on RAID (no-code/low-code), integrated with Couchbase, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka
- Ensure carrier-grade reliability (five-nines availability) for both core NTR and the new copilot capabilities
Technical Execution & Collaboration:
- Take ownership of significant, complex work independently across both agentic copilot and core NTR features
- Partner closely with the Principal Engineer on architecture and technical direction for the copilot platform
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and telecom domain experts to shape and prioritize copilot use cases with the highest operator impact
- Mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing, without formal people-management responsibility
- Represent the work in cross-functional planning and stakeholder reviews
Required Technical Skills:
Core Engineering
- Solid Core Java backend development; familiarity with RAID (Mobileum's no-code/low-code UI and ETL platform) a plus; solid system design and distributed systems fundamentals
- Experience with distributed data stores (Couchbase, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar), Kafka, and Kubernetes/OpenShift
Agentic AI & GenAI:
- Hands-on with LLM application development: prompt design, tool/function calling, RAG
- Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar) and Python
- Understanding of vector databases, context management, and agent evaluation/observability
Telecom Domain:
- Familiarity with telecom/roaming systems and protocols; NTR or similar in-path traffic-steering experience a strong plus
Collaboration:
- Comfortable owning ambiguous, complex problems independently; strong collaborator across cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of software engineering experience, including significant Core Java backend and distributed systems work
- 1–2+ years hands-on building or shipping LLM-based/agentic applications (tool use, RAG, multi-step orchestration) in production
- Strong individual-contributor track record, comfortable driving complex technical work independently with minimal oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
- Telecom or roaming domain exposure, ideally including NTR or similar in-path traffic-steering products
- Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar agent orchestration frameworks
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar tool-calling/agent-communication protocols
- Vector databases and RAG pipeline experience
- Observability/evaluation practices for LLM systems
- Exposure to network/telecom operations automation
Work Experience: 8-12 Years
Educational Qualification: BE. / B.Tech., M.E./M.Tech. or M. Sc. in Computer Science / Electronics Engineering / MCA
