Role

Own design delivery for exhibition, event, and brand environment projects - from concept through execution. Lead a team of designers while staying accountable to the studio's larger design direction, not just individual project output.

Experience

- 6–10 years in exhibition/event design, experiential design, or brand environments (booths, pavilions, experience centres)
- Proven pitch-to-win track record — can point to specific projects closed
- Prior experience managing/mentoring a design team, not just executing individually

Core responsibilities

- Lead design development across multiple concurrent projects
- Present directly to clients - concept decks, design walkthroughs, revisions live in the room, not just handoff
- Own the design pitch: strategy, storytelling, visual narrative, and closing
- Guide a team of 3–6 designers - review work, unblock them, keep output aligned to the studio's design language and larger business goals (not just what looks valuable on one project)
- Translate client briefs into a coherent design POV before work starts, so the team isn't designing blind




- Coordinate with production/execution teams to keep design intent intact through build

Must-haves

- Strong portfolio: real client work, not just renders- built/executed projects preferred over concept-only
- Fluent in client-facing presentation tools (whatever the studio uses - expect PowerPoint/Keynote + design software output)
- Comfortable owning a room - pitch presentations, client pushback, revision requests under time pressure
- Can hold a design point of view under client pressure without just capitulating to every note

Nice-to-have

- Experience in museums/heritage/curatorial exhibition work (studio is actively building this vertical)
- Experience with large-format stands/pavilions (trade show scale, 100+ sqm)

Not a fit if

- Purely individual-contributor background with no team management
- Design-only, no client-facing pitch/presentation experience
- No experience owning outcomes past the concept stage (execution/coordination matters here)
