Role & responsibilities :
- Design and develop hydraulic and pneumatic systems to meet customer and project requirements.
- Modify and optimize existing hydraulic and pneumatic systems for improved performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Perform hydraulic and pneumatic system design calculations, including pressure drop, flow rate, actuator sizing, force calculations, and system performance analysis.
- Select suitable hydraulic and pneumatic components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators, hoses, fittings, filters, and seals based on system requirements.
- Select appropriate valve types, materials, and sealing arrangements considering operating pressure, temperature, flow characteristics, media compatibility, and environmental conditions.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), operation manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Conduct engineering analysis, design reviews, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T; application to ensure robust product design.
- Plan and conduct functional, performance, and qualification testing to validate system performance, reliability,
and safety.
- Support prototype development, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design improvements.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, testing and suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace, industrial, and customer standards.
Preferred candidate profile :
- Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and experience in aerospace hydraulic and pneumatic systems.sp
- Expertise in component selection and sizing, knowledge of valve design and selection, good understanding of material selection, sealing technologies, and fluid compatibility.
- Proficiency in engineering calculations and system performance analysis, strong knowledge of GD&T; (ASME Y14.5), tolerance stack-up analysis and qualification standards such as DO-160, MIL Standards, AS9100, or equivalent aerospace standards.
- Familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, and (DV/PV) along with exposure to CFD or FEA for component validation is an added advantage.
