Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Database Engineer to design, deploy, and support mission-critical databases across on-premises and AWS environments. The ideal candidate should be a strong Oracle DBA with deep Oracle GoldenGate expertise, solid AWS RDS/Aurora experience, and strong PL/SQL skills. The candidate should be able to manage database performance, reliability, migrations, and production support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate & Optimize

Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and support production Oracle databases.

Perform performance tuning at the database, OS, and query levels.

Replication – Priority

Design, install, configure, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate.

Support high availability, database migrations, and real-time data replication.

AWS Data Platforms

Deploy and administer AWS RDS for Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

Work with Aurora MySQL and Aurora PostgreSQL.

Manage EC2-hosted databases, S3, DMS, and AWS Backup.

Implement IAM, networking, security, and database best practices.

Database Migrations

Lead on-premises to AWS database migrations using Oracle GoldenGate and AWS DMS.

Execute zero-downtime or minimal-downtime migration cutovers.

Backup & Recovery

Implement and test RMAN and Data Pump backup and recovery strategies.

Ensure RPO and RTO requirements are met.

Scripting & Automation





Develop automation and diagnostic scripts using SQL, PL/SQL, and Shell scripting.

Work in UNIX/Linux environments.

Reliability & RCA

Handle production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.

Implement preventive actions.

Create and maintain runbooks and SOPs.

Agile Delivery

Work within Scrum/Agile teams.

Use Jira and Confluence.

Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and manage multiple workstreams.

Required Qualifications

8–10+ years of total experience in Database Engineering or Database Administration.

8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in production environments.

5+ years of strong hands-on Oracle GoldenGate experience, including installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.

Strong experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, DMS, and AWS Backup.

Experience with DynamoDB is a plus.

Robust Oracle database performance tuning experience using AWR, ASH, execution plans, indexing, and OS metrics.

Strong SQL, PL/SQL, and Shell scripting skills.

Experience with UNIX/Linux.

Proven experience migrating databases from on-premises environments to AWS using GoldenGate and/or AWS DMS.

PostgreSQL and MySQL administration, operations, and performance tuning experience.

Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Nice to Have

Experience designing AMIs and hardened images for database workloads.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
