Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our SRE team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting cloud-deployed multi-master PostgreSQL MySQL and Cassandra environments across Azure and AWS. This role demands deep expertise in database reliability, scalability, and performance tuning to ensure Karolium’s mission-critical services run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, and maintain multi-master PostgreSQL clusters in Azure and AWS
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and replication strategies for cloud-hosted databases
- Collaborate with SREs, developers, and product teams to optimize database performance for Karolium
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and automation for proactive database management
- Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and query optimization
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and industry best practices
- Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the SRE team

Required Skills s Qualifications

- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA, with solid expertise in PostgreSQL




- Proven Experience on Aurora DB (Managed Postgres Cloud)
- Proven Experience on Managing Cassandra Clusters
- Proven experience managing multi-master PostgreSQL deployments in cloud environments (Azure C AWS)
- Strong knowledge of database replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms
- Proficiency in SQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) for database automation
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Proven knowledge of Database Tuning
- Proven knowledge of Query Optimization
- Knowledge of Patching and Security Updates
- Knowledge of ITSM Process.

Certifications (Preferred)

- PostgreSQL Certified Professional
- AWS Certified Database – Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
- Relevant SRE/DevOps certifications
