Role Description The Senior Buyer (Retail Industry – 60k) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for managing end-to-end buying activities for assigned product categories. This includes identifying and sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing and contracts, and ensuring product quality and timely availability to meet customer demand and sales targets.

Buyer will analyze sales data, market trends, and inventory levels to develop assortments, set replenishment plans, and optimize margins. The role involves close collaboration with merchandising, operations, finance, and store teams to coordinate promotions, launches, and stock allocations.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in retail buying or procurement, preferably at a senior or lead level, managing product categories and vendor portfolios.
- Robust skills in supplier management, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and relationship building.
- Ability to interpret sales, margin, and inventory data to drive assortment planning, demand forecasting, and pricing decisions.
- Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising practices, and promotional planning within a multi-store or multi-channel environment.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, ERP or procurement systems, and basic analytics tools for reporting and decision support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field; advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive practices in supplier and team interactions.
