We at Chromosome Labs Pvt. Ltd. are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Senior Bioinformatics Lead with a PhD to join our dynamic team of collaborative scientists. The candidate will lead the team for development of advanced bioinformatics workflows, contribute to cutting-edge research, and drive analytical deliverables for a range of client and internal research projects.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of end-to-end bioinformatics pipelines for NGS and multi-omics data analysis.
- Independently perform advanced analyses including variant calling, de novo genome assembly, comparative genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, and epigenomics.
- Develop novel computational methods and customized analytical tools to address complex biological research questions.
- Drive data interpretation, generate biological insights, and contribute to report generation.
- Mentor and guide junior bioinformatics staff and research associates.
- Lead or co-lead client-facing projects, including technical presentations and scientific consultations.
- Collaborate closely with wet-lab scientists, and cross-functional teams to integrate omics data with experimental findings.
- Critically evaluate and adopt emerging bioinformatics tools, methodologies, databases, and best practices.
- Ensure rigorous documentation of workflows, analytical decisions, and deliverables in compliance with scientific and regulatory standards.

Essential Qualifications:

- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics,



Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline.
- 3-5 years of post-PhD or industry experience in NGS data analysis (transcriptomics, metagenomics, whole genome assembly, epigenomics, etc.) (3D modelling/docking not required).
- Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics pipeline development and multi-omics data integration.
- Robust proficiency in scripting and programming languages: Python, R, and/or Bash.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications or equivalent technical contributions.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage projects and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with pipeline/workflow management frameworks (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL).
- Proficiency with containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Singularity/Apptainer).
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and HPC environments.
- Deep knowledge of public bioinformatics databases, ontologies, and reference resources.
- Experience applying statistical and/or machine learning methods to biological and clinical datasets.
- Familiarity with long-read sequencing platforms (Oxford Nanopore, PacBio) and hybrid assembly strategies.
- Experience with GBS, GWAS, nucleotide modification analysis.
- Managing a team of direct reportees.
