Elevate is hiring a Senior Associate Global IP Prosecution, in the Prosecution team. The candidate is responsible for conducting patent searches, and providing guidance on patent-related matters. Further, the candidate is responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications for India, US and EP. The candidate will also work closely with inventors, engineers, and legal teams to ensure that inventions are effectively protected under patent law of IN, US and EP.
Specifically, the Senior Associate – Global IP Prosecution will
- Draft and prepare patent applications by gathering information from inventors and conducting thorough reviews of technical documents and drawings.
- Manage the prosecution process of patent applications by responding to FER and office actions, conducting interviews or hearings with patent examiners, and maintaining communication with The Indian Patent Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) or relevant international patent offices.
- Conduct prior art searches and analyze existing patents to provide strategic insights regarding the patentability of inventions and the freedom to operate.
- Consult with clients to understand their innovations and provide advice on patent protection strategies, including potential patent infringement issues.
- Stay updated on current patent laws, regulations, and trends to provide informed legal advice and insights to clients and colleagues.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D;, engineering, and legal departments to facilitate the patent process and align with business objectives.
