About the roleOur sister concern operates a growing portfolio of property management and related businesses in the US. As we've added entities, our accounting has outgrown a part-time bookkeeper.

We're looking for a senior accounting leader to own the finance function end-to-end — books, financial statements, payments, payroll, banking relationships, and forecasting — across all of our entities. This is a hands-on role. You'll be doing the work, not managing a team that does it, at least to start.

You'll work directly with the CEO and have real influence over how the company handles money.

What you'll ownBooks and reporting

- Full-cycle accounting for [number] entities, including intercompany transactions and allocations
- Monthly close: P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow by entity and consolidated
- Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
- Year-end coordination with our outside CPA

Cash and payments

- Process AP and owner distributions; keep vendors paid on time
- Monitor cash position across entities and flag issues before they become problems
- Property-level tracking: rents received, security deposits, CAM and operating expenses

Payroll

- Run payroll and allocate labor costs correctly across entities and properties
- Payroll tax filings and related compliance

Banking and financing

- Serve as the day-to-day contact for our banks and lenders
- Assemble financial packages for recent loans, refinances, and renewals
- Track debt service, covenants,



and reporting deadlines

Forecasting

- Build and maintain cash flow forecasts and operating budgets
- Model the impact of acquisitions, refinances, and capital projects
- Give the CEO a clear read on where the business stands and what's coming

What we're looking for
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of a monthly close
- Multi-entity experience — comfortable with intercompany entries, allocations, and consolidated reporting
- Strong grasp of accrual accounting and GAAP fundamentals
- Hands-on payroll processing experience
- Direct experience working with banks on financing, not just handing off documents
- Advanced Excel; fluent in [QuickBooks / your GL] and property management software like [AppFolio / Yardi / Buildium]
- Discreet and reliable with sensitive financial information
- Able to work independently, set your own priorities, and follow through without being chased

Nice to have
- Real estate, property management, or construction accounting background
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent
- Experience cleaning up or standardizing messy books
- Experience selecting or implementing accounting systems
