Senior Accountant

We're a growing financial services firm that helps startups and scaling businesses manage their books, close their financials, and make sense of their numbers as they grow. Our team works as an extension of our clients' finance function — handling bookkeeping, controller-level oversight, CFO advisory, and tax support for companies moving through seed stage, growth stage, and beyond. We work with a distributed, lean team and pride ourselves on being precise, responsive, and genuinely helpful to the founders and finance leads we support.

This is a fully remote role, and given our client base, we need someone available during 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM EST .

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of client accounts. You'll work closely with controllers and CFO-level team members, and directly with client stakeholders, to keep books accurate, timely, and audit-ready.

Responsibilities

- Own full-cycle month-end and year-end close for multiple client accounts




- Prepare and review financial statements (P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Manage AP/AR processes and ensure accurate cash flow reporting
- Support tax preparation and coordinate with external tax advisors as needed
- Identify process improvements and help standardize accounting workflows across clients
- Communicate directly with client finance leads/founders on financial performance and reporting questions
- Mentor or review work of junior accounting staff, where applicable

Requirements

- 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally including startup, agency, or multi-client environments
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — this role involves direct client interaction
- Must be able to work 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM EST
