Company Description
Ankstrom FutureLabs is India's first technology-enabled semiconductor workforce development platform, incorporated in March 2026 and DPIIT recognised. The organization sits at the intersection of the India Semiconductor Mission, a critical shortage of industry-ready engineers, and the near-total absence of internationally credentialed semiconductor programmes at India's engineering colleges. Ankstrom is not a training institute — it is the connective tissue between globally credentialed semiconductor curriculum, India's engineering college ecosystem, and semiconductor employers.
Its first programme takes post-Semester 6 ECE students to an international co-certified credential, including a one-week immersive laboratory experience.
Role Description The Semiconductor Education Consultant is an advisory role – part-time and adaptable, based in Bangalore or Chennai (preferred), with occasional travel to partner colleges and, where relevant, Malaysia. You report to the Founder & CEO and serve as a domain expert and sounding board on semiconductor curriculum, industry expectations, and education delivery in the Indian context. This is not an implementation role.
You are helping shape a programme that does not exist yet, not executing an existing one.
Day-to-day, this involves sense-checking programme design decisions (content sequencing, assessment approach, college partner selection, and employer alignment),
offering informed perspective on the India semiconductor education landscape, connecting Ankstrom to relevant stakeholders in the consultant's network, participating in key conversations with institutional and international partners, and flagging risks or blind spots — particularly around delivery logistics, regulatory requirements, and employer expectations.
Qualifications
- Genuine technical depth in semiconductor education, VLSI, EDA tools, chip design, or electronics manufacturing — enough to hold a credible conversation with senior technical educators and industry practitioners.
- Experience in or adjacent to semiconductor or electronics education in India — as faculty, curriculum designer, training manager, or industry educator.
- An established network within the India semiconductor or electronics ecosystem — employers, institutions, or industry bodies.
- Comfort operating with incomplete information in an early-stage environment.
- Strongly preferred: familiarity with C2S Programme institutions, NSDC-aligned semiconductor initiatives, or AICTE credit frameworks.
- Strongly preferred: prior exposure to international academic partnerships or cross-border programme delivery.
- Strongly preferred: knowledge of the Malaysia semiconductor ecosystem, or strong curiosity to develop it quickly.
- Strongly preferred: experience advising or building programmes at an early-stage organisation.
