We are hiring two experienced Salesforce Developers to join our client clinical technology team. You will build and maintain a regulated Salesforce platform that supports the full clinical trial lifecycle from study setup through closeout operating within 21 CFR Part 11 compliance standards. This is a technically demanding role that requires both deep Salesforce platform expertise and a working understanding of the life sciences domain.
Role & responsibilities:
- .Design and build Salesforce solutions that support clinical trial operations across the full study lifecycle, from protocol configuration to site closeout.
- Extend and customize managed packages to align with business requirements while maintaining upgrade compatibility and Part 11 validation integrity.
- Develop and maintain bidirectional API integrations with Medrio, EDC, CTMS, and other clinical data systems.
- Build reusable, accessible Lightning Web Components with clean JavaScript and maintainable component architecture.
- Configure and customize Experience Cloud portals for sponsor, CRO, and site user personas.
- Own the document management data model using ContentDocument and related objects, ensuring auditability and compliance.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce Salesforce best practices, and contribute to platform governance decisions.
- Stay current with Salesforce releases and evaluate new features for adoption within the platform roadmap.
Required Skills:
Clinical Trials Domain Knowledge
Solid understanding of clinical trial lifecycle phases from protocol setup, patient enrollment (subjects), and data collection through site closeout and regulatory submission. Familiarity with eTMF (electronic Trial Master File) structures, document management standards, and subject-level data tracking. Hands-on familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements including audit trails, electronic signatures, access controls, and data integrity standards in validated environments.
Salesforce Managed Package Expertise
Deep knowledge of how Salesforce managed packages are structured, installed,
and governed. Proven ability to extend and customize managed packages including working around namespace constraints to meet specific business and compliance requirements without breaking upgrade paths.
SOAP / REST API Integration (Bidirectional)
Hands-on experience designing and implementing bidirectional integrations using both REST and SOAP-based APIs. This includes outbound callouts from Salesforce (Apex HTTP callouts, Named Credentials) and inbound integrations via Salesforce REST/SOAP APIs with experience handling authentication, error handling, retry logic, and large data volumes.
Lightning Web Components & JavaScript
Strong proficiency building Lightning Web Components (LWC) with a solid command of modern JavaScript including modules, promises, async/await, destructuring, and the event model. Experience with the LWC lifecycle hooks, wire adapters, and composing component hierarchies. Familiarity with ES2026 features such as Temporal API and pattern matching is a plus.
Salesforce Communities & Experience Cloud Portals
Practical experience building and configuring Salesforce Experience Cloud portals including partner portals and sponsor/site-facing portals. Familiarity with sharing rules, guest user access, digital experiences page layouts, and branding within Experience Builder.
Content & Document Management (ContentDocument Entity)
Experience working with Salesforce's native document storage model ContentDocument, ContentVersion, and ContentDocumentLink to attach, retrieve, and manage files programmatically across objects.
Ability to design entity-relationship structures that meet document lifecycle and audit requirements in a regulated setting.
Salesforce Best Practices & Platform Currency
Commitment to staying current with Salesforce's three annual releases. Applies governor limits awareness, bulkification, security best practices (FLS, CRUD checks), and platform design patterns consistently. Maintains certifications or equivalent working knowledge of latest Salesforce product capabilities.
Nice to Have Skills:
Kit Management Module
Familiarity with clinical kit management concepts including investigational product tracking, kit assignment, inventory reconciliation, and depot/site logistics. Experience with Salesforce-based kit management modules or equivalent CTMS components that manage randomization and supply chain workflows in clinical trials.
AI Developer Tools
Working familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude to accelerate Apex/LWC development, code review, and documentation generation. Ability to evaluate and critically assess AI-generated code for accuracy and compliance fit.
CI/CD & DevOps
Exposure to Salesforce DevOps pipelines including Salesforce DX (SFDX), scratch orgs, and tools such as Copado and GitLab CI/CD. Understanding of version control workflows (Git), branch strategy, and automated deployment validation in a regulated change management context.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flows).
- 5+ years of experience building and configuring Salesforce Experience Cloud portals.
- Prior work in a life sciences, clinical research, or regulated healthcare technology environment.
- Active Salesforce certification(s) Platform Developer II or above required.
- Demonstrated experience delivering production integrations using REST and/or SOAP APIs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with clinical operations teams.
