Proposal Engineer – Rolling Mill

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Job Location:

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for rolling mills and steel processing equipment based on customer requirements and tender documents.
- Review RFQs, technical specifications, process requirements, layouts, and engineering drawings.
- Understand customer requirements for rolling mills, reheating furnaces, mill stands, coilers, uncoilers, and related equipment.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, production, and sales teams for proposal preparation.
- Prepare material requirements, equipment lists, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop detailed cost sheets, pricing calculations, and commercial proposals.
- Prepare technical deviations, clarifications, and compliance statements.
- Coordinate with customers for technical discussions and proposal clarifications.




- Maintain proposal documents, costing records, and related technical data.
- Support contract review and project handover activities after order receipt.
- Participate in tender submissions, technical evaluations, and bid preparation.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering and rolling mill equipment.
- Understanding of steel rolling processes and steel processing lines.
- Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of cost estimation, material requirements, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks will be an added advantage.
- Valuable communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with multiple departments and meet proposal submission deadlines.
