Job Title: Team Lead - Quality Engineering (Data & AI Focus)

Job Summary:

KION Group is expanding its capabilities in data analytics and IT solutions to drive quality improvement across our products and services. We're building a skilled team within the KION Tech Center in Pune, India, combining expertise in cloud, AI, IT, and quality.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead to drive innovation in our global Quality Management organization by leading our IT engineering efforts, focusing on data and AI. This pivotal role involves building and mentoring a high-performing team that blends analytical and IT proficiency with a deep understanding of Quality Management and Customer Service business needs. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of cloud solutions, AI/ML technologies, software development lifecycles, and a fundamental understanding of quality assurance methodologies.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, onboard, lead and mentor a multifunctional team of Data, AI, IT, and Quality Engineers, fostering a collaborative, multi-skilled, and results-oriented environment, ensuring state-of-the-art Quality Management by implementing IT and AI solutions.
- Drive team development through resource planning, performance management, technical guidance, and fostering career growth.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback. Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee administrative tasks, including budget control and personnel approvals.





Collaboration & Communication:

- Support Group IT service owners to manage the team hiring, development, performance review and compensation as local people lead.
- Collaborate and report to global executives, managers, and experts across Europe and the US.
- Partner with stakeholders to align on quality goals, manage expectations, and provide regular progress updates.
- Build robust relationships with global IT and Quality leaders to foster collaboration.
- Support deployment and change management for new solutions, and actively pursue continuous learning.

IT Development & Quality Process:

- Facilitate data deployment in KION cloud environments and automate AI solutions for data insights.
- Actively contribute to the software development lifecycle, providing expertise from the QM business requirement translation into user stories and design specifications to deployment, defect management, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to corporate standards, IT security, and statutory requirements, and certification requirements (TSAX, etc.).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and deliver solutions promptly.
- Build an understanding of Quality Management strategies, systems, methodologies, and leverage the KION IT landscape to drive effective process improvements and optimize quality tools.
- Evaluate and leverage already existing quality tools.

Data & AI Integration:

- Drive the adoption of data-driven quality assurance practices using data analytics and AI/ML techniques.
- Demonstrate end-to-end experience in data-driven product development.
- Collaborate with data scientists, developers, data engineers, and quality engineers.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,



or a related field.

Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in software or AI development, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience building and managing high-performing teams.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience in manufacturing industries or Quality Management preferred.

Skills:

- Leadership: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.
- Data & AI: Strong understanding of Data Analytics principles and AI/ML concepts. Experience with data analysis tools (Databricks, Dremio) is a plus. Ability to connect quality data across multiple platforms (JIRA, SAP, Snowflake) and translate it into actionable insights for executives
- IT Development: Solid understanding of software development principles and practices. Ability to read and understand code in at least one programming language (Java, Python, SQL, R).
- Quality Management: Basic knowledge and strong affinity of quality assurance methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ownership & Accountability: Takes ownership of responsibilities and is accountable for results.
- Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments quickly.
- Process Management: Strong capability to think in processes and design practical solutions for business processes.
- Experience with cloud-based testing (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Bonus Points:

- Certifications in Quality Assurance (e. g. ISO9001).
- Experience with specific AI/ML platforms, frameworks and libraries (e. g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangGraph).
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Experience in relevant industry (e.g., Automotive, Manufacturing).
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Problem-Solving & Quality Context: experience with structured Problem Analyis and Problem Solving Methods such as RCA/8D, FMEA, etc.
