Description

The Role: As a Purchase Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of Raw Materials (RM) and Packing Materials (PM), vendor management, cost control, and inventory coordination with stores and production. You will ensure timely availability of materials, optimal stock levels, quality compliance, and cost-effective purchasing to support uninterrupted production operations. Key Responsibilities: -Plan and manage procurement of all Raw Materials and Packing Materials as per production requirements and forecasts. -Develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and quality assurance. -Ensure timely material availability to avoid production stoppages or delays. -Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, R&D;, and Operations for material specifications, approvals, and recent vendor development. -Monitor inventory levels in coordination with Stores to maintain optimum stock, safety stock, and reorder levels. -Oversee storage practices to ensure proper handling, labeling, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and material traceability. -Ensure procurement documentation, GRN, PO, vendor invoices,



and records are accurate and maintained systematically. -Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service. -Implement cost control initiatives, alternate sourcing, and value engineering to reduce procurement costs. -Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and regulatory procurement requirements. -Manage the Stores team to ensure proper material receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation. -Prepare periodic reports on procurement status, stock levels, vendor performance, and cost savings.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or related field (MBA in Supply Chain preferred).
- 4-5 years of experience in procurement and stores management, preferably in cosmetics, pharma, FMCG, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of Raw Materials and Packaging Materials procurement.
- Experience in vendor development, negotiation, and contract management.
- Knowledge of inventory management, FIFO/FEFO, and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, email communication, and documentation.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
