Role Description The Purchase Engineer (Fabrication Only) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhopal, focused on procurement activities related to fabrication materials, components, and services. The role involves managing end-to-end purchasing processes, including identifying suppliers, requesting quotations, evaluating offers, and issuing purchase orders for steel, castings, rubber products, and other fabrication-related items.

The Purchase

Engineer collaborates closely with production, quality, and project teams to ensure timely availability of materials, adherence to technical specifications, and cost-effective sourcing. Daily responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels,



supporting purchase planning, tracking delivery schedules, resolving supplier issues, and maintaining accurate purchasing documentation and records. The role also requires analyzing procurement data to optimize vendor performance, reduce lead times, and support continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including vendor sourcing, quotation evaluation, and procurement documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in purchase management and purchase planning to coordinate material requirements with production and project timelines.
- Candidates should possess experience in handling purchase orders, including creation, review, tracking, and follow-up with suppliers.
- Candidates should possess solid analytical skills to assess pricing, delivery performance, and material quality, and to support cost optimization.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, preferably with experience in fabrication or heavy engineering.
- Understanding of fabrication materials, welding consumables, structural steel, and related technical specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP or purchasing software for data management and reporting.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to work on-site in Bhopal, manage multiple priorities, and adhere to quality and safety standards.
