Role & responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end execution of the Aluminium Fluoride (AlF3) plant project from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover to operations, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to specified quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own the project execution plan for the AlF3 plant, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases.
2. Coordinate with process licensors/technology partners, EPC contractors, and internal engineering teams to finalise design and ensure technical compliance.
3. Manage procurement and contracting for critical equipment (reactors, kilns/dryers, gas scrubbing systems, material handling) in coordination with Central Procurement.
4. Drive site construction activities, monitor progress against milestones, and resolve execution bottlenecks.
5. Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance (environmental clearances,



factory/pollution control board approvals, fluoride handling and safety norms specific to AlF3 production).
6. Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance guarantee test runs; manage handover to Operations/Production.
7. Report project status, risks, and financial tracking (capex vs. budget) to the Site Projects Head and senior leadership on a periodic basis.
8. Coordinate cross-functionally with HR (manpower planning for the recent unit), Finance (capex approvals), and HSE (process safety reviews).

Preferred candidate profile

- 10-15 years of experience in chemical/fertilizer/process plant project execution, with at least one prior greenfield or brownfield plant commissioning.
- Prior exposure to fluorine chemistry, phosphoric acid derivatives, or similar hazardous-chemical processing plants is strongly preferred.
