Job Summary

As a Software Project Lead - Product & Platform Engineering, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end software product development programs and driving the successful execution of complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives. This role requires ownership of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including product requirements, architecture reviews, development, quality assurance, release management, deployment, and post-release support. You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams comprising Product Management, Software Development, Platform Engineering, Quality Assurance, DevOps, and Sustenance Engineering, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technical strategy, and delivery commitments. The ideal candidate will possess a robust blend of technical leadership, project execution, stakeholder management, and people management capabilities, with the ability to build, coach, and lead high-performing engineering teams while delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. The role carries responsibility for talent development, performance management, organizational capability building, succession planning, employee engagement, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering Leaders, Quality Teams, Operations Teams, and global stakeholders to define product roadmaps, manage delivery risks, drive continuous improvement, and ensure successful product releases. This position plays a critical role in supporting innovation and digital product development initiatives for Marmon Foodservice Technologies through Marmon GIC.

Mandatory Skills

- 12-14 years of experience in software development, technical leadership, and engineering project management.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities from requirements engineering through deployment, production support, and sustainment.
- Strong experience managing software development projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams comprising Product Management, Software Development, Platform Engineering, Quality Assurance, DevOps, and Sustenance Engineering.
- Proven experience in people management, including performance management,



employee development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Experience leading and managing teams of Software Engineers, Technical Leads, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and cross-functional contributors.
- Strong experience in resource planning, workforce management, competency development, employee engagement, and talent retention.
- Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and lead high-performing engineering teams in a global product development environment.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles, system design, API-first development, and enterprise application architectures.
- Hands-on experience delivering cloud-native applications on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven expertise in Microservices Architecture, API-driven systems, distributed applications, and service-oriented software platforms.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, backend services, cloud services, and enterprise integrations.
- Exposure to Embedded Software/Firmware product development, preferably involving connected products, edge devices, IoT ecosystems, or industrial automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices including: Cloud-Native Development; Microservices Architecture; DevOps & DevSecOps; CI/CD Pipelines; Containerization (Docker); Kubernetes; Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong knowledge of: Software Design & Architecture Principles; Agile Development Practices; Release & Configuration Management; Risk & Issue Management; Resource Planning; Stakeholder Management; Software Quality & Security Practices.
- Experience working with engineering and project management tools including: Jira; Azure DevOps; GitHub / GitLab; Confluence.
- Strong understanding of automated testing frameworks, deployment automation, release governance, and operational readiness.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities / Functions

Program & Project Leadership

- Lead software product development programs from concept through production deployment and sustainment.
- Own project planning, estimation, execution strategy, delivery governance, and release management activities.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, resource allocation, and dependencies.
- Drive predictable execution while balancing technical quality, business priorities, and delivery commitments.
- Establish program governance mechanisms, KPIs, and delivery metrics to monitor project health.

Product & Engineering Leadership

- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate product vision into executable engineering roadmaps.
- Drive technical reviews and support architecture decisions for cloud-native, API-driven, and distributed software solutions.
- Ensure engineering teams adhere to coding standards, design principles, security requirements, and software quality practices.
- Facilitate technical decision-making and cross-functional collaboration across development, QA, DevOps, and platform teams.
- Promote innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement across product development initiatives.

SDLC Ownership

- Govern all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle from requirements management through deployment and support.
- Establish development processes, quality gates, release controls, and engineering governance practices.
- Monitor project progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans while proactively removing delivery roadblocks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, quality, and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with software quality, cybersecurity, and organizational standards.

Quality & Testing Leadership

- Collaborate with Quality Engineering teams to define validation strategies, test plans, and release acceptance criteria.
- Drive adoption of automated testing, continuous testing, and shift-left quality practices.
