Position: Project Director

Responsibilities:

- The Project Director will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of Third-Party Inspection (TPI) services for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- The role will provide strategic leadership, technical governance, client management, resource planning, quality oversight, commercial control and risk management across multiple inspection packages and project locations.
- The Project Director will act as the senior interface between the TIC organization, client, project management consultant (PMC), EPC contractors, consultants, vendors and other project stakeholders, ensuring that inspection activities are delivered in accordance with approved specifications, drawings, codes, standards, inspection and test plans (ITPs), contractual requirements and applicable statutory requirements.

Project Leadership and Governance

- Provide overall leadership for the TPI assignment from mobilization through project completion.
- Establish project governance, organization structure, reporting mechanisms and communication protocols.
- Develop and implement the overall TPI Project Execution Plan.
- Ensure effective coordination between civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and specialist inspection teams.
- Establish inspection priorities based on project schedule, criticality and risk.
- Monitor overall project performance against agreed scope, schedule, quality and commercial objectives.
- Ensure consistent implementation of inspection procedures across multiple project packages and locations.





Client & Stakeholder Management

- Maintain strong relationships with client leadership and project management teams.
- Participate in project steering committee and management review meetings.
- Present project quality and inspection performance to senior management.
- Understand client expectations and translate them into operational requirements.
- Resolve escalated technical and operational issues.
- Coordinate with PMC, EPC contractors, design consultants and vendors.
- Manage communication between different project locations and inspection teams.
- Ensure timely escalation of critical technical, quality and contractual risks.

Commercial & Contract Management

- Monitor project revenue and billing against contract milestones.
- Review manpower deployment versus approved commercial scope.
- Monitor variations and additional service requirements.
- Identify potential scope creep.
- Support preparation of variation proposals and commercial claims.
- Monitor project profitability and cost performance.
- Ensure timely submission of invoices and supporting documents.
- Support collection of outstanding payments.
- Coordinate with commercial and finance teams on project-related matters.





Technical / business-unit specific skills and knowledge

- Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction and inspection.
- Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of ITPs, inspection procedures and quality management systems.
- Robust understanding of international codes and standards.
- Experience in vendor/manufacturing inspections.
- Knowledge of construction QA/QC systems.
- Ability to review technical specifications and contractual requirements.
- Strong understanding of NCR, deviation and corrective action processes.

Work Experience

Minimum 20–25 years of professional experience, preferably including:

- 10+ years in senior project/quality/inspection management.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary inspection teams.
- Experience working with government / PSU / private infrastructure clients.
- Experience in PMC, EPC, TIC, engineering consultancy or construction organizations.
- Experience managing multiple project locations and large manpower teams.
- Experience interacting with senior client and contractor management.

Preferred Project Experience

- Experience in projects with a value of ₹500 Cr+ to ₹5,000 Cr+, or equivalent large-scale programs, would be advantageous.

Education

B.E./B.Tech. in Civil / relevant engineering discipline.

Preferred:

M.E./M.Tech. / MBA / Project Management qualification.

PMP / PRINCE2 certification.

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
