Reports To: Head of Department (HOD) / Principal / Dean
Job Summary Responsible for leading clinical care in tertiary pediatric services, directing undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/DNB) academic programs, and conducting clinical research. Oversees specialized pediatric care, neonatal/pediatric ICUs, and department administration in compliance with NMC guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic & Training: Deliver lectures, clinical postings, bedside teaching, and seminars for MBBS, MD, and DNB students. Act as a recognized guide for thesis work and postgraduate dissertations.
- Clinical Oversight: Direct OPD clinics, IPD wards, and critical care units (NICU/PICU). Provide senior consultation for complex, refractory, or emergency pediatric cases.
- Research & Publications: Lead clinical trials and health research. Maintain active publications in indexed journals as mandated by National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.
- Administrative & Regulatory:
Assist the HOD with department administration, curriculum planning, NMC inspection preparation, and clinical audits.
- Mentorship & Quality: Supervise resident doctors, assistant/associate professors, and nursing teams to enforce standard treatment protocols and patient safety measures.
