Moradabad
We develop more than 1,500 recent products every year, and every one of them needs a manufacturing process worked out from a physical sample and drawings. If you are the kind of engineer who looks at a sample or a drawing and immediately starts thinking about how it will actually get made, read on.
Designco India | Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh | Full-time, On-site Department: Business Solutions | Reporting to: Head of Business Solutions | Experience: 5+ years | Education: B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical) | Salary band: ₹12.00–18.00 LPA
About Designco
Designco India is one of the country's fastest-growing home décor and handicrafts export companies. We manufacture in metal, wood, glass and stone for leading global retailers and design brands, with everything made to order. Sheet metal, wire, aluminium casting, plating, powder coating, finishing and wood shops all run under one roof in Moradabad, backed by strong infrastructure and continuous investment in machinery and people.
Why this role exists In most factories, a process engineer maintains processes someone else built years ago. Here, the product line changes every season. Recent products arrive constantly, and each one needs a process decided: sequence, machines, tooling, operations, control parameters. Much of this knowledge today sits in experienced heads. We are converting it into documented, repeatable processes, and we need an engineer who will own this work for sheet metal and fabrication.
What you will do
- Study samples/drawings and decide how a product should be made: process sequence, machines, tools and operations.
- Develop and document manufacturing processes for sheet metal and fabricated components.
- Work closely with Design, Production, Tool Room and Quality during new product development,
from first sample to production handover.
- Solve process problems on the shop floor. This is a hands-on role, not a desk role.
- Identify where cost, cycle time and rejection can be reduced, and drive those improvements.
- Prepare process plans, work instructions and process documentation that shop-floor teams actually use.
What we need
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication: press machines and press operations, press tools, dies and punches, blanking, bending and forming.
- Good understanding of welding processes and where each is the right choice.
- Working knowledge of machining, CNC and conventional.
- Ability to read an engineering drawing and judge manufacturing feasibility quickly.
- Clear documentation habits and the ability to explain a process to a diverse shop-floor team.
Why you should consider this
- Variety. An auto-component plant will give you one part family for years. Here you will engineer processes across hundreds of new designs a year, in multiple materials and finishes.
- Speed. You will see your process decisions turn into finished, shipped products within weeks.
- Visibility. You will work directly with senior leadership on new product development and process standardisation, not three layers away from decisions.
- Growth. The company is building out its engineering and planning functions. Engineers who deliver here will grow with that build-out.
Location
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Moradabad. Please apply only if you are based in Moradabad or willing to relocate.
How to apply
- Apply through LinkedIn with your CV. Mention one manufacturing process problem you solved and how, in two or three lines. That tells us more than the CV.
