Principal Engineer Java Microservices

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical direction for application development, solution design, system integration, and implementation.

- Design scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based solutions.

- Guide multiple product teams and ensure interoperability across applications and technologies.

- Define and implement consistent engineering frameworks, tools, processes, and coding standards.

- Lead architecture and technical decision-making across the software development lifecycle.

- Review technical designs, code, and deliverables produced by development teams.

- Mentor engineers and provide guidance on complex technical challenges.

- Drive CI/CD enablement, engineering maturity, automation, and rapid software delivery.

- Incorporate relevant technology and industry trends into product roadmaps.

- Collaborate with engineering, testing, support, architecture, and business teams.

- Diagnose and resolve complex software application and integration issues.

- Promote Agile and Lean software development practices across product teams





Mandatory Technical Skills

- Robust hands-on experience in Java 8, Java 11, or Java 17

- Extensive experience in Java Microservices architecture

- Strong expertise in Spring Boot 3+ or Dropwizard

- Experience with REST APIs, SOAP services, Rest-Assured, Postman, or SoapUI

- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or Message Queues

- Strong knowledge of AWS, including AWS Lambda

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GoCD

- Experience with Maven 3+ or Gradle 7+

- Hands-on experience with Git and SonarQube

- Experience with Terraform

- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Kibana, Prometheus, or Elasticsearch

- Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or AWS DynamoDB

- Knowledge of application security practices and tools such as OWASP, ZAP, or Snyk

- Experience with unit testing frameworks, preferably JUnit 5

- Strong understanding of Agile software development practices
