Job Role

- Position: PLC Troubleshooting Engineer
- Experience: 3–5 Years
- Location: Chennai

- Handle PLC and automation troubleshooting for industrial machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical control systems, machine automation, and equipment breakdowns.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, relays, contactors, and electrical control panels.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance.
- Identify root causes of machine failures and minimize equipment downtime.
- Support PLC program modifications, parameter changes, and automation improvements.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve machine-related issues.
- Maintain troubleshooting records and recommend preventive and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities PLC & Automation Troubleshooting:

- Troubleshoot PLC I/O, wiring, communication, and machine-sequence-related problems.
- Diagnose faults in PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot PLC logic, I/O mapping, and machine control issues.
- Support PLC program modifications and parameter adjustments.
- Identify automation-related issues and implement suitable solutions.

Electrical & Machine Troubleshooting

- Troubleshoot motors, pumps, solenoid valves, heaters, temperature controllers, and sensors.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and control circuits.
- Understand and troubleshoot PLC I/O diagrams.




- Identify electrical and mechanical causes of equipment breakdowns.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective fault diagnosis and repair.

Installation & Commissioning

- Handle machine installation and commissioning activities.
- Support testing and startup of automated equipment.
- Verify electrical connections, control systems, sensors, and machine sequences.
- Assist in automation improvements and machine reliability initiatives.

Maintenance & Reporting

- Attend equipment breakdowns and provide timely technical support.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Maintain records of machine faults, troubleshooting activities, and corrective actions.
- Recommend preventive measures to reduce recurring equipment failures.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation.
- Experience with one or more PLC platforms:

- Siemens

- Mitsubishi

- Delta
- Allen-Bradley

- Omron
- Good knowledge of HMI, VFD, sensors, electrical panels, and control circuits.
- Knowledge of temperature controllers, motors, pumps, solenoid valves, and heaters.
- Ability to understand PLC logic and I/O mapping.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of Modbus, RS485, Ethernet, and industrial communication protocols is an advantage.
- Solid practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
