Company Description Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999 by three visually impaired graduates committed to empowering people with disabilities to live with dignity and independence. The Trust operates Residential Skill Training Centres in Bangalore and Ranebennur, offering accommodation, computer and job skills training, spoken English, communication skills, mobility training, and life skills for visually impaired youth and children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the years, Snehadeep has supported more than 19,000 beneficiaries through mobility aids, braille kits, canes, welfare initiatives, and has placed over 100 visually impaired youth in diverse jobs.
With government-supported land in Kengeri (Bangalore), the organization is developing a world-class Residential Skill Training Centre to expand advanced job skills, IT training, cultural activities, and sports. Snehadeep is driven by the belief that disability is not inability and partners with changemakers to build an inclusive future.
Role Description The Placement Officer is a full-time role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area with a onsite work arrangement, with responsibilities at Snehadeep’s centres. The role involves identifying suitable employment opportunities for visually impaired and other disabled youth, building and maintaining relationships with employers, and coordinating campus and off-campus placement activities.
The Placement
Officer will conduct career counseling sessions, guide learners on resume building and interview preparation,
and organize training workshops to enhance job readiness and soft skills. They will collaborate closely with training and education teams to align skill programs with market needs, track placement outcomes, and prepare regular reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and partners. The role also includes outreach to corporate and institutional partners, advocating for inclusive hiring practices and supporting sustained employment for placed candidates.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust Campus Placement and employer relationship management skills.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including spoken English and interpersonal abilities.
- Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills to guide learners on job options, growth paths, and workplace readiness.
- Candidates should possess Training and facilitation skills to conduct workshops on interview skills, resume writing, and soft skills.
- Candidates should possess Education-related skills, with an understanding of skill development and inclusive education for persons with disabilities.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in the social sector is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of local job markets, inclusive hiring practices, and basic MS Office or equivalent digital tools is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, human resources, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, and commitment to inclusion.
- Should have interest in the NGO field.
Salary range: 30k - 35K
