Position Overview:

We invite applications for Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents in Pathology.

The role involves teaching Pathology to MBBS students, conducting practical and laboratory sessions, providing diagnostic pathology services, mentoring students and residents, participating in academic activities, and contributing to research and departmental development.

Candidates with strong academic credentials, diagnostic expertise, teaching aptitude, and an interest in medical education and research are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:





- Conduct lectures and teaching sessions in Pathology and related areas for MBBS students.
- Conduct practical classes, demonstrations, tutorials, and laboratory-based teaching.
- Teach students the principles of General Pathology, Systemic Pathology, Hematology, Immunopathology, Cytopathology, and Histopathology.
- Guide students in understanding the correlation between pathological findings and clinical conditions.
- Perform and supervise histopathological, cytological, hematological, and other pathology investigations as per institutional scope and professional expertise.
- Examine and interpret tissue specimens, biopsies, surgical specimens, cytology samples, and hematology investigations.
- Provide accurate and timely pathology reports in accordance with institutional protocols and professional standards.
- Perform and supervise FNAC, bone marrow examinations, peripheral smear evaluation, and other relevant diagnostic procedures as applicable.
- Guide and mentor undergraduate medical students, interns, and postgraduate residents.
- Conduct tutorials, seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, small-group teaching, and other academic activities.
- Participate in MBBS curriculum planning, academic schedules, and departmental teaching programs.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, viva-voce, and other academic evaluations as assigned.
- Supervise and maintain appropriate functioning of pathology laboratories and diagnostic services.
- Ensure appropriate sample handling, processing, storage, documentation, and disposal according to institutional protocols.




- Maintain and promote quality assurance and laboratory safety practices.
- Collaborate with clinicians and other departments for clinicopathological correlation and multidisciplinary case management.
- Participate in tumour boards, multidisciplinary meetings, and academic case discussions as applicable.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CME programs, workshops, conferences, and other academic activities.
- Participate in research projects, publications, presentations, and academic collaborations.
- Encourage and guide students and residents in research-oriented academic activities.
- Maintain appropriate academic, diagnostic, laboratory, and departmental records.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Pathology Department and its teaching and diagnostic services.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NMC guidelines, university regulations, institutional policies, laboratory standards, quality protocols, and patient-safety requirements.

Eligibility:

Qualification:

- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/DNB in Pathology from a recognized institution for faculty positions.
- Postgraduate qualification in Pathology for Senior Resident positions, as applicable.

Experience:

- Experience as per applicable NMC norms for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions.
- Postgraduate candidates fulfilling the applicable eligibility criteria may be considered for Senior Resident positions.

Preferred Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Anatomical Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
- Good diagnostic, teaching, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience in undergraduate medical teaching.
- Expertise in histopathology, cytopathology, hematology, and general pathology.
- Experience in FNAC and bone marrow examination will be an advantage.
