Roles & Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle Linux 7/8/9 servers.
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, security updates, and kernel updates.
- Manage packages using YUM/DNF/RPM.
- Perform user and group administration, password policies, and access management.
- Manage filesystems, partitions, LVM, mounts, and disk space.
- Configure and troubleshoot NFS, SSH, DNS, networking, and TCP/IP.
- Manage Linux services using systemd/systemctl.
- Monitor CPU, memory, disk, processes, and system performance.
- Troubleshoot OS, application, filesystem, network, and performance issues.
- Configure and maintain SELinux and firewalld.
- Analyze system logs using journalctl, /var/log, and other monitoring tools.
- Perform server hardening according to security standards.
- Automate routine administration tasks using Shell scripting.




- Manage cron jobs and scheduled tasks.
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery activities.
- Troubleshoot boot issues, kernel problems, and system failures.
- Support Oracle Database and middleware environments running on Oracle Linux.
- Work with Oracle Linux Ksplice for kernel/live patching where applicable.
- Support high availability, clustering, and virtualization environments.
- Maintain server documentation, operational procedures, and change records.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Coordinate with database, application, network, security, and cloud teams.
- Monitor server availability and ensure compliance with SLA and security require
