Project description
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support Oracle database environments in a 24x7 production support model. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of mission-critical databases. The candidate should be comfortable working in rotational shifts, handling incidents, outage management and Problem Management.
Responsibilities
Provide 24x7 production database support (rotational shifts and on-call support). Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c or higher).
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database environments.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning.
Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN.
Implement of complex system like EXA/GG/RAC/DR configurations at an expert level in demanding customer environments with industry/DXC best practice.
Manage database security, user roles, and privileges.
Troubleshoot database-related incidents and resolve within SLA.
Support high availability solutions such as Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and standby databases.
Perform regular health checks and preventive maintenance.
Participate in DR drills and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Coordinate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
Maintain documentation of configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting steps.
Achieve a high level of Customer Satisfaction on all consulting engagements.
Experience in disaster recovery solutions and testing.
Performance tuning, performance management, and capacity planning experience (AWR, ASH reports, SQL tuning).
Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager / OEM / OMS 12c & 13c.
Required ITIL processes for Incident and Change management.
Experience in Outage management and Problem Management
Hands-on experience with RMAN backup and recovery.
Experience with database patching and upgrades.
Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
Robust troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Oracle 10g/11g/12c/19c RDBMS Database Administration.
Skills
Must have System Database Administration, patching, upgrades, database changes, reorg, unload/reload. 24x7 support for the client's Database environment:
ORACLE (v10/11/12/19) and higher
Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN
