Role: Onboarding Specialist BGV
Location: Electronic City, Bangalore
Function: HR – Talent Acquisition
Work Hours: UK Shift – 2:00pm to 11:00pm IST, Monday – Friday
Reporting To: Team Lead – Onboarding
Key Stakeholders: UK Resourcing, HR Operations, and Post Offer Administration Teams
Role Purpose The Onboarding Specialist manages the end-to-end execution of pre-employment and background verification checks for UK healthcare candidates from India, following Practice Plus Group policies, NHS Employment Check Standards, and UK regulations. Right to Work and Occupational Health checks remain with the UK team; all other applicable checks are managed by the India team.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Essential Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Psychology, or a related discipline, with excellent written and spoken English.
Desirable Education: Postgraduate qualification in HR/Personnel Management or relevant certifications.
Essential Experience: 3–4 years in Background Verification or Pre-Employment Screening, managing high-volume cases against SLAs while handling confidential data.
Desirable Experience: Background in healthcare, international/UK recruitment, shared services models, or using platforms like Eploy, Experian, and ATS/HRMS tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Employment Screening: Review candidate documentation, identify discrepancies,
and coordinate checks including identity, references, professional registrations, qualifications, DBS, and police checks.
- Process Coordination: Serve as the primary operational interface between the India BGV team and UK stakeholders for document transfers, escalations, and complex cases.
- Case & SLA Management: Prioritize active caseloads based on joining dates, track pending checks, and prevent SLA breaches.
- Candidate Experience: Communicate professionally with candidates to request information, resolve queries, and prevent onboarding delays.
- Data Management: Update ATS, BGV, and HR systems (e.g., Eploy, Experian), maintaining audit-ready electronic records.
- Reporting: Maintain daily/weekly case trackers and operational MIS reports for leadership and UK stakeholders.

- Technical: Strong grasp of verification processes, multi-tasking under tight deadlines, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and HR/ATS platforms.
- Behavioural: Skilled and empathetic candidate management, cross-cultural collaboration across time zones, and confident risk escalation.
Compliance & Data Protection Maintain strict adherence to GDPR, UK data protection laws, NHS standards, and company policies, ensuring secure cross-border data handling and prompt reporting of any security incidents.
