Purpose: Execute the transactional procurement cycle accurately and quickly, and keep vendor follow-up and records complete so that no requirement is delayed at desk level.
Qualification: B.Com / B.A. / B.Sc. / Diploma in Engineering
Experience: 3–4 years of purchase experience in a Steel Plant, Power Plant, SMS, Rolling Mill or Integrated Steel Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrutinise indents for completeness and refer back incomplete ones.
- Float RFQs to approved vendors and to additional sources identified for the category.
- Collect and log quotations and prepare comparative statements on a landed-cost basis.
- Prepare purchase orders and amendments after approval; obtain acknowledgement and confirmed delivery dates.
- Follow up on despatch, documentation, e-way bill, insurance and transporter details.
- Arrange transport on ex-works orders after comparing freight quotes.
- Coordinate with Stores on GRN, short supply, rejection and replacement.
- Support Accounts in resolving invoice, GST, rate and quantity mismatches.
- Verify and maintain vendor registration documents and rate history.
- Maintain the pending indent register and flag any item at risk of delaying site work.
