Job Title: Odoo System Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a high-initiative Odoo System Architect (Product Owner) to take full strategic and functional ownership of our Odoo ERP ecosystem. This is a leadership role focused on system design, process architecture, and stakeholder alignment, not hands-on development.

You will act as the Product Owner of our Odoo platform: defining the vision, eliciting requirements from leadership and operational teams, producing functional specifications and system designs, and directing our development team to build and implement solutions that precisely match our business needs.

You will be responsible for auditing our current Odoo usage, stopping the misuse of incorrect modules, and engineering tightly controlled, foolproof business processes. You will own the roadmap, lead system administration, design reporting, and ensure the platform evolves continuously to meet organisational demand.

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running from day one, work confidently with non-technical stakeholders, and scale our Odoo implementation from our existing footprint in China through to a full deployment across our UK operations.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Requirements

- Act as the primary Product Owner for the Odoo platform, own the roadmap, prioritisation, and end-to-end delivery lifecycle
- Proactively elicit requirements directly from leadership and operational stakeholders, translating business needs into clear, actionable system designs
- Produce detailed functional specifications, process flowcharts, and system architecture documentation to communicate requirements to developers and stakeholders
- Audit existing Odoo usage to identify misapplied modules and enforce more tightly controlled, standardised business processes
- Propose and champion process improvements to drive efficiency and consistency across the organisation

System Design & Reporting




- Design end-to-end system architectures and data flows within the Odoo ecosystem
- Design and specify custom reports, dashboards, and executive-level data views that meet business intelligence requirements
- Leverage AI tools and BI integrations to deliver intelligent, real-time dashboards and predictive reporting
- Define and document integration patterns for connecting Odoo with third-party systems and enterprise technologies

Development Leadership & System Administration
- Direct and mentor the Python development team, providing clear functional and technical briefs to guide implementation
- Own Odoo system administration: manage configurations, module governance, user permissions, upgrades, and platform health
- Review and validate delivered solutions against functional specifications, ensuring quality and alignment with business requirements
- Proactively monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate resolution with the development team

Global Scaling & International Deployment
- Optimise and refine the existing Odoo footprint in China
- Lead the full planning and deployment of the finalised Odoo framework across UK operations
- Travel internationally as required to gather on-site requirements, deploy systems, and align global teams

Requirements

Essential

- Deep experience architecting, configuring, and administering Odoo ERP across multiple modules and business domains
- Strong background in business analysis and requirement elicitation, able to engage confidently with non-technical stakeholders and translate needs into system logic
- Proven ability to produce functional specifications, process flowcharts, and system design documentation
- Experience designing Odoo reports, dashboards,



and data views to meet operational and executive reporting needs
- Demonstrated product ownership or project leadership experience, including roadmap management and cross-functional coordination
- Experience directing or closely collaborating with development teams, providing clear technical and functional briefs
- Robust initiative, able to identify operational inefficiencies and drive process improvement independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present recommendations to senior leadership
- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally (China, UK, and other sites as required)
- Immediate or short-notice availability is a significant advantage
