Role: NPD Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. New Product Development

- Manage complete NPD projects from receipt of customer drawings/specifications through final product approval.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
- Conduct technical feasibility and manufacturability studies for recent products.
- Coordinate prototype/sample development and ensure timely completion of development activities.
- Drive product development from concept/prototype to production-ready stage.
- Identify technical risks during development and implement suitable corrective actions.

2. APQP & Quality Documentation

- Prepare and maintain complete APQP documentation for new product development.
- Independently prepare and manage PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
- Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are incorporated into the development process.
- Coordinate PPAP/sample submissions and closure of customer observations.

3. Manufacturing & Process Development

- Develop and optimize processes including Stamping/Press Shop, Forging, Machining, Plastic & Rubber Moulding, Welding and Fabrication.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes for quality, cost, productivity, and product performance.
- Support production trials and process validation for new products.

Product Testing & Validation

- Develop and execute product testing and validation plans.
- Conduct/supervise TRT (Temperature Rise Test), Insulation Resistance Testing, Heating Performance/Efficiency Testing, Mechanical Performance Testing, and basic Electrical/Chemical validation.
- Analyze test results, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure products meet technical specifications before customer submission or production release.

5. Standards & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure developed products comply with applicable EN standards and CE requirements.
- Review relevant product standards and translate requirements into design, manufacturing, and testing specifications.
- Maintain required technical and compliance documentation.
- Exposure to standards applicable to welding accessories, electrode holders, earth/ground clamps, electrode ovens, and related products is preferred.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Design, Quality, Production, Purchase, Tool Room, Vendors, and Customers throughout the development cycle.
- Work closely with suppliers for development of components, tooling, dies, moulds, and manufacturing processes.
- Support production teams during new product trials and initial production runs.
- Drive closure of development-related quality and manufacturing issues.
