Role Overview: The Rochade to Purview Migration Specialist is responsible for preserving, transforming, and publishing enterprise lineage metadata from the legacy Rochade platform into Microsoft PurviewFabric. This role ensures continuity, accuracy, and business usability of lineage during migration to Microsoft Fabric using both native Purview scanning and custom lineage bridging.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lineage Assessment Strategy: Assess existing lineage coverage across sources, ingestion layers, and BI assets in Rochade. Map Rochade lineage to Purviews catalog and lineage graph, deciding where custom types are necessary. Define end-to-end lineage stitching across Bronze, Silver, Gold layers including notebooks and Power BI semantic models. Define and maintain stop-gap lineage representation in Purview until native Fabric lineage matures.
- Lineage Bridge Design Development: Build lineage bridge pipelines to ingest Rochade files into staging, transform into normalized lineage representation, and publish to Purview via Atlas APIs. Construct missing lineage edges for end-to-end lineage report model dataset source where Purview lacks native coverage. Support dual-run and lineage parity validation to ensure continuity with business stakeholders.
- Purview Metadata Governance Implementation: Integrate Rochade lineage with Microsoft Purview, including custom lineage injection where required.



Align lineage assets with Purview Collections, Oracle connectors, Fabric tenant scans, and Power BI metadata ingestion. Establish metadata standards, tagging requirements, change control, and governance workflows across engineering and BI teams.
- Testing Validation Quality Controls: Perform lineage validation, row counts, key aggregates, reconciliation, refresh windows, semantic model consistency. Validate lineage paths and ensure evidence for governance acceptance. Conduct sample-based validation with business champions and audit stakeholders.
- Migration Planning Cutover: Define migration units (MUs), coordinate wave-based execution, manage dependencies across EDW, Denodo, Informatica, and BI tracks. Prepare cutover and rollback plans for Rochade decommissioning once lineage continuity is proven. Support archival and retirement of Rochade once Purview becomes the system of record.
