Job Title: Motor Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Motor Design Engineer with robust expertise in the design and development of BLDC, PMSM, or Induction Motors for electric mobility applications. The candidate will be responsible for electromagnetic and thermal design, simulation, prototyping, validation, and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform electromagnetic design and simulation of electric motors to achieve optimum torque, efficiency, power density, and NVH performance.
- Carry out thermal analysis and cooling strategy development to ensure reliable motor operation under various operating conditions.
- Develop and optimize motor components including winding, insulation systems, sensors, wiring/harnesses, and related electrical components.
- Use simulation tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD or equivalent software for motor performance analysis and optimization.
- Apply DFM, DFA and DFT principles to develop cost-effective and production-friendly motor designs.
- Work closely with manufacturing and tooling teams for winding, casting, machining, assembly, and mass-production feasibility.
- Support prototype build, testing, validation and product qualification activities.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for prototype, testing, assembly, and End-of-Line (EOL) issues and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare validation plans and correlate simulation results with actual test data.




- Collaborate with motor controller and controls teams to align motor parameters with control strategies such as FOC and sensorless control.
- Analyze field/warranty failures and contribute to design improvements and reliability enhancement.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including DFMEA, reliability analysis, validation reports and service-life assessments.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Controls, Electronics, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality and Product Engineering.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in electric motor design and development.
- Strong experience in BLDC / PMSM / Induction Motor design.
- Good knowledge of electromagnetic theory, motor topology, winding design, losses, torque-speed characteristics and efficiency optimization.
- Hands-on experience with ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD or similar motor simulation tools.
- Good understanding of thermal management, cooling methods and temperature analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical insulation systems and applicable motor design standards.
- Exposure to prototype development, motor testing, validation and failure analysis.
- Good understanding of DFMEA, DFM, DFA,



DFT and reliability engineering.
- Knowledge of motor control concepts such as FOC, sensor-based and sensorless control will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile Candidates with experience in EV traction motor design, 2W/3W/4W electric vehicle motors, automotive motors, BLDC/PMSM development, electromagnetic simulation, thermal analysis and prototype validation will be preferred.
