Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Architect to define and drive the technical architecture and cross-platform strategy for our iOS and Android applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mobile development experience, architecture ownership across both platforms, and the ability to make critical technical decisions around frameworks, native integrations, third-party SDKs, performance, security, and scalability.

The Mobile Architect will work closely with engineering teams and guide developers on architectural decisions, coding standards, framework selection, and native-platform integrations.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and own the technical architecture and cross-platform strategy for iOS and Android applications.
- Establish and maintain mobile application architecture, coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
- Evaluate and guide technology choices across native and cross-platform mobile frameworks.
- Provide technical guidance to JavaScript/mobile developers on framework selection, architecture, and native integrations.
- Review key technical decisions, architecture designs, code structures, and implementation approaches.
- Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for mobile SDKs, libraries, APIs, and third-party services.
- Ensure mobile architecture meets requirements for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Define strategies for integrating native iOS and Android capabilities with cross-platform applications.
- Establish best practices for mobile app lifecycle management, including development, testing, release,



monitoring, and maintenance.
- Ensure applications comply with Apple App Store and Google Play Store requirements and guidelines.
- Identify and resolve architectural and performance bottlenecks across mobile applications.
- Define approaches for secure data storage, authentication, API communication, encryption, and mobile application security.
- Conduct architecture and technical design reviews and provide actionable recommendations.
- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership on complex mobile engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, Backend, and DevOps teams to ensure successful delivery of mobile applications.
- Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, SDKs, platform updates, and industry best practices.

Key Requirements

- 7+ years of qualified mobile application development experience.
- Demonstrated experience owning or leading mobile architecture across both iOS and Android.
- Strong experience with native mobile development and/or cross-platform development frameworks.
- Deep understanding of the complete mobile application lifecycle, from development through deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.




- Strong knowledge of iOS and Android platform capabilities, limitations, and app-store requirements.
- Experience with mobile architecture patterns, modularization, reusable components, and scalable application design.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization, including startup time, memory usage, CPU utilization, network performance, and battery efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of mobile application security best practices, authentication, authorization, secure storage, encryption, and API security.
- Experience evaluating and integrating third-party SDKs, libraries, APIs, and mobile services.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript-based mobile development and native platform integration.
- Ability to make sound build-vs-buy and technology selection decisions.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and provide overlap with US and EU time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, or other cross-platform technologies.
- Strong understanding of Swift/Objective-C and/or Kotlin/Java.
- Experience with mobile CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and app monitoring.
- Experience working with REST APIs, authentication platforms, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and other mobile services.
- Experience designing mobile applications for high scale and high availability.
- Familiarity with cloud-based backend services and modern DevOps practices
