Role & responsibilities

1. Policies, Processes and Procedures

- Manage day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to maintain a controlled and consistent work environment.

- Stay updated with leading practices and emerging trends in mechanical maintenance and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and procedures.

- Standardize and implement best practices, group guidelines, and Lessons From Incidents (LFIs) to improve the reliability of plant mechanical equipment.

1. Maintenance Planning and Review

- Prepare mechanical maintenance budgets and monitor adherence to ensure efficient cost utilization.

- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, and monthly) in coordination with Planning, Production, Technology, and CES teams.

- Create resource plans aligned with maintenance schedules to effectively manage routine mechanical maintenance activities and plant shutdown jobs.

- Monitor maintenance performance regularly and ensure that mechanical maintenance KPIs are achieved on a weekly basis.

- Track inventory levels of mechanical spares, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure compliance with specified inventory norms and targets.

- Oversee timely identification and procurement of spare parts by coordinating with vendors, procurement teams, and stores to ensure availability.

1. Maintenance Operations

- Supervise mechanical maintenance tasks ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion in accordance with established standards and procedures.

- Lead troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities in coordination with the CES team for technical support.

- Conduct obsolescence management studies on plant mechanical equipment to improve equipment availability and reliability.





- Initiate and release material and service purchase requisitions (PRs) for mechanical equipment in a timely manner.

- Manage execution of CAPEX projects, repair, and refurbishment activities to maintain equipment performance, functionality, and availability.

- Plan and execute plant turnaround and shutdown maintenance activities according to schedule.

- Monitor and review Management of Change (MOC) activities from a mechanical maintenance perspective.

- Participate in reliability and integrity studies of mechanical systems and components to ensure safe and reliable operations.

- Conduct regular Look, Listen, and Feel (LLF) inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

- Collaborate with Production, Quality, CES, EHS, and Technology teams to identify operational issues and implement improvement measures.

- Facilitate and oversee minor project activities as required, coordinating with external agencies for completion.

- Liaise with Customs and Excise departments to expedite outgoing mechanical materials in priority cases.

- Coordinate with the IMMS team to expedite codification of urgent mechanical items.

- Ensure accuracy and completeness of maintenance data by reviewing and validating SAP entries.

- Maintain and approve plant mechanical maintenance records and history.

- Review and maintain Integrated Management System (IMS)



documents for mechanical maintenance to support audits and documentation requirements.

1. Workplace Safety and Environment

- Ensure compliance with maintenance-related safety, fire protection, and environmental procedures to provide a safe working workplace for plant personnel.

- Evaluate plant machinery for potential safety, fire, and environmental hazards related to mechanical maintenance operations and implement corrective measures.

- Investigate safety incidents related to mechanical operations in collaboration with safety teams and support the development and implementation of corrective action plans.

- Assist during emergency situations such as fire or safety incidents to support rapid response and resolution.

- Identify and implement energy conservation initiatives in line with organizational sustainability and environmental strategies.

1. Compliance and Audits

- Review reports and documentation related to internal and external audits and participate in audit processes and plant review meetings.

- Ensure timely compliance with audit schedules and oversee the implementation of corrective actions for identified gaps or deviations.

- Ensure adherence to HSEF compliance requirements including RESOP, MIQA, CFA, and DOSHE mandatory training programs.

- Facilitate mechanical contracts and monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

- Ensure completion of mandatory training programs to maintain compliance with established organizational policies and processes.
